Why does car die out when letting go of gas pedal while I was driving I came to a stop and it felt like it was going to die out so I put it in neutral and pressed the gas then put it in drive and when I got home as soon as I pressed on brake car died out 2001 Toyota Tacoma

Maybe just a little more detail about what one might be working on?

    Tasteful modifications :)
Maybe your just not used to the idle yet? I also wouldn’t continue stomping your foot on the gas while in neutral and then switching to drive, your gonna screw up your tranny doing that. More info is nice!

how many miles on the truck and how up to date are you on the maintenance? could be a plugged fuel filter starving out the engine. just a guess though without more details.

Could be a lot of things. Start simple: clean air filter, check spark plugs, clean MAF & throttle body, also try a bottle of injector cleaner. Are you throwing any codes?

Could be clogged fuel injectors, clogged fuel filter, dirty MAF sensor (I suggest looking into this first since its the easiest to troubleshoot), bad spark plugs, bad spark plug cables, or a bad alternator to name a few

It could be a lot of things but always start with troubleshooting the easiest things first! Keep us posted on whats going on with it and the progress. We love helping eachother out!

I had a problem similar to this about 5 years ago, kept stalling out for some reason like yours is.
turns out some sort of rodent had somehow made its way into the air filter housing and had nibbled enough on the element to create a hole
changed the air filter, cleaned up the mess it made and it all returned to normal

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
    Start with new spark plugs
