I didn't have to pound the wheels on by any means. They hand fitted to the hub flanges tighter than my OR wheels and for good measure I used anti seize ONLY on the rim hub bore opening and ONLY on the factory lug nut shanks / shoulders not the threads. Tightened them in the correct crisscross pattern and they walked right up to the drums and disc flanges perfect. Re torqued after about 100 miles and rear lugs had about 1/8th of an inch of re tightening, the four other times I have checked all four wheels the torque has been fine. I did not do any grinding only wire wheel cleanup of 6 years and 100k miles of crusty oxidation mostly on rear hub and drum flanges. Rotors on front were new. 17 TRDORDCLB

It seemed to take a little more bevel than expected to get these wheels to fit but in full disclosure I'm a bit perfectionistic. I beveled until there was only .35" distance from the drum face to the edge of bevel. This matches the front hubs so what can it hurt.

Looking to pull the trigger on these new 4runner TRD pro wheels. Anyone mounted these without grinding the hub? How does your truck ride?

I too really do like these wheels and was dead set on them from the beginning. I bought the OEM wheels before my truck even came in, LOL.

    You have three choices:
    1. grind a bevel on the rear hub
    2. grind or machine the bore deeper on each wheel (most trouble)
    3. use some wheel spacers.

I chose to bevel the rear hub:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2023-mgm-trd-off-road-mildly-modded.787908/#post-28231540

Do any one of the three and they should ride fine.

Don't forget that APG makes what looks like the same wheel in a 17 x 8 that's a direct bolt on and can use the OEM center cap. I was so hung up on OEM that I didn't want to do that. But in hind site, I'd swap these for APG's now simply because the APG wheels are 8" wide(which is really what they should be for a 265 tire).

Was the wheel caps sold separately? I went down to Toyota to pick up the PRO wheels and when I opened the box to inspect, they said the caps are sold separate even though stock photo on website displays it.

The caps on the 2021 4runner wheels were sold separately. There's actually two options:

    PT280-89210-2F is red and black
    PT280-35221-5F is bronze and black
PT076-60200-02 is the OEM black lugnuts (found these on Ebay for $75 shipped from a Toyota dealer)

Why not just buy FSW wheels in this same style and not have to worry about grinding or spacers? A number of people here have bought them and don't seem to have any issues.

    https://factorystylewheels.com/wheel-styles/2021-4tr-pro-style-ffs-f246/

You can get it with a similar TRD centercap and I've heard through the grapevine even OEM centercap will fit them.

You get the style you want without the headache of trying to make it work.

I’ve heard the FSW and other brands finish scratch easily, idk if that’s been everyone’s experience though

No money, all went to truck...
I have a friend who had dealership installed 17" 4runner wheels. He recently got a recall letter and Toyota replaced the wheels with 16" TRD wheels with new tires free of charge.

How many miles on tires? If they are pretty new and tires you like then they are a good deal IMO. Black lugnuts would sweeten the deal.... never hurts to ask. ;)

I assume these are the new style 4Runner Pro wheels? Do they include the TPMS sensors too?

I just bought a brand new set for my 4Runner, wheels and center caps from BAM Wholesale for less than $900 shipped. If TPMS sensors and decent tires already mounted and balanced it could be a real good deal.
