Any current info on this issue? I am looking at the 40th Anniv. 4Runner wheels, PTR56-89210-F5, to put onto my '22 OR. Can anyone confirm fitment of these? Am I right to assume that these may have the same issue as the balck PTR56-89210-F2?

Idk man, up to you. If I was you I’d just buy the PTR20-35110-BK and be done with it. They have a confirmed fit. My buddy bought the grey ones of the same model and they fit fine too.

I suspect they are the same wheel with a different finish color and would more than likely have the same issue. You have to really want the new style for it to be worth the trouble. It was worth the trouble for me. ;)

Alternative is to go aftermarket with repo wheels.

Besides part number what’s the difference between the SEMA wheels and the wheels that do not fit properly? Are they visually different? Dealer installed my bronze SEMA’s but recently bought a set of black wheels off of a 4Runner. I assumed they were the exact same as the Bronze, just black, but now y’all got me worried lol how can I check to make sure they are the “right” ones?

Thanks for the thoughts, I am leaning towards just going aftermarket. It looks like the APGs have good reviews on here and they look to be a very similar and sounds like good quality. I think these APGs will be a good option.

I just got a set of Bronze FSW wheels in the 4Runner style. 17x8.5 and 0 offset. So far so good.

I don’t know anything about AGP.

Yep, that's the ones I was thinking of. OEM caps fit too. The FSW wheels that Mikro posted look nice too.

That looks fantastic. What tire size?

eBay best-factory-.. is the best deal I found, $800 free shipping. But I wonder why it says 7.5” wide when I thought they are supposed to be 7” wide.

Can anyone please recommend a website that will send them with tires mounted and balanced? I think I’ll get them with 255/80R17 tires. THANKS

Where are those APG’s made? I’m trying to avoid anything from china. I think Toyota wheels are not from china, so was planning to get these - PTR20-35110-BK from eBay $800 free shipping

I read through all the posts. Honestly I’m confused. I have the gloss gunmetal SEMA style OEM wheels (part # PTR20-35110-G4) and while I can squeeze them on the front I simply couldn’t get the rears to sit flush even with considerable force (I didn’t try pulling tight with the lug nuts). I have a 2020 TRD Off Road and these wheels came on the 2020 4Runners I believe but they look just like the SEMA wheels. My truck is very low miles and garage kept so hardly any corrosion on the hub (none actually).

According to the posts here they’re supposed to fit because they’re not the 2021 style but they don’t. Do they have to literally be pounded on the rear? Could it be the gloss gunmetal is different than the matte finishes?

That's odd. Post a picture of the backside of the hub. I'm curious how much chamfer it has and would like to see if there is any overspray. I had some OEM Vette wheels powder coated two years ago and when I got them back they wouldn't fit on the car due to build up inside the hubs.

Sure, here’s a picture. No overspray at all. I felt the insides of all bores and everything is smooth except there was some minor material that came off when I tried to press on the rear.

Yep, the bores look good. Measure the depth of the counterbore on the wheel and compare that to the how far the hub sticks out. This may help determine if the issue is related to the depth of the bore or the bore diameter itself.

Either way, this is very odd.... just trying to help pinpoint the issue.

Good idea. I’ll try to get the wheel off again today. A bit hard as I’m awaiting hip replacement surgery but I can manage.

I test fit the other 3 wheels (not sure why that didn’t occur to me before). The other 3 are very tight but they fit. It appears one was possibly machined incorrectly. I ordered these over a year ago. Not too expensive, I’ll just order another wheel.
