don't vehicles normally freak out when installing LED anything?
They are usually set up to self monitor for bulb outage, and when an LED draws too little power (the whole point of an LED), the car freaks out and thinks a bulb is out.
Some cars are programmed to hyperflash when that happens to notify the driver that said bulb is "out".

I thought Alpharex is a guy who buys used Acura jewel eyes (from MDX, etc.) such as at a junkyard
(totaled car from rear-end accident still has salvageable front parts like headlights)
for cheap, maybe couple hundred bucks
retrofits them into a housing himself,
then sells it to you for $1-2k

Kind of like how people have been modding their own headlights at home posted on HIDplanet forum for the past 10-20 years
except selling it to others as a business

Not sure what that has to do with China
unless they are new housings bought from China
to have a clear lens as opposed to buying a used housing to retrofit into that might be faded

Reminds me of modern vehicles. They have LED light housings with parts that are not separately replaceable, routinely giving the customer no choice but to buy a new $1k light when one part of it stops working, as opposed to older vehicles with a few bulbs inside that are easily replaced on their own

I just finished installing the headlights and had the same issue as other people - only some of the DRL was on and hyperflash whenever a turn signal was applied. I remembered coming across this thread while doing research while I waited for the headlights to ship. Applied the rewiring, and was off to the races! Thank you so much!!! So crazy that this thread is only just over a month old, if it had been earlier I would have returned the headlights

I can't seem to get turn signals to work at all. My headlights came with an adapter which swaps the pin in the right locations. The parking lights (photo below) and headlights work as they should.

Despite my wires being where they should... I tried swapping the yellow wire and I get the exact same behavior.

I'm at a loss. I did blow a fuse hooking the lights in without the adapter but it was replaced. My rear amber lights hyperblink when using turn signal (only led in tails is brake light) too.

I'm really hoping it's not a faulty light. I voided the warranty installing H7 HID bulbs :( I just need these things to work while my retrofits are getting refreshed.

Turns out you do need that yellow wire from the chinesium harness to one of the headlights. All working now. HID's look decent and very bright.

I will post some photos soon. I still need to get the high beams wired and the final aiming adjustments.

You will need H7A bulbs and a dremel to grind the projector opening a little so the bulb base can seat properly. You also have to drill a hole in the back of the housing cover which voids the warranty.

I'm setting this up to run while I refurbish my OEM + retro's and possible have some new ones built. I wouldn't really recommend what I'm doing here... but I'll report back how it performs.

Sorry op if i’m hijacking your thread, but i’’ve been considering pulling the trigger on the nova series for some time. Saw a youtube video where the user had hyperflash while using his turn signals as well, but he solved that issue by installing some resistors from alpharex after contacting them and addressing the hyperflash. Will the repin solve any hyperflash with these, thus making the need for resistors unneeded? If anyone could help it would be really appreciated. Thanks.

@kimopods I'm interested in hyper flash as well

Also, wondering if anyone has attempted to wire tap the factory DRL into the the headlight DRL, so it is controlled by steering column switch versus on once key is in?

    New to forum, thanks guys!

Just installed the nova series this week and you def need the resistors. Contact your seller and they will ship them out to you. No more hyperflash.

Mod list... Well, my paint is factory.
That's not the way it works. They are selling a product, regardless of where and how they purchase it, it's their responsibility to make sure the product works properly. It's possible that they don't even know about the problem. People really need to contact them and see what they say. If they don't take care of it or don't take responsibility, then make sure that everyone knows how they do business, including anyone you may have purchased the headlights from.

BTW... They are not buying VLAND (a few hours south of Shanghai). It looks like they purchase all of their products from one factory, in China, north of Shanghai. Since they only buy from one factory, it makes me think that their US office/company is just a subsidiary of the factory that sells direct into the market. Or at the very least, they have an extremely strong relationship with them.

More like $350 plus shipping and duties, and that isn't including any tooling investment for custom logos (possibly $4K-$6K for the visible one), also it looks like these are on Tariff List #1 which would add a 25% import tariff. They then sell them to a retailer that needs to make a profit.
    upload_2022-10-25_8-26-28.jpg

Arex looks to have at least a bit of customer service with a 30 day money back guarantee, unlike Alibaba.

If $1K for headlights is too much for you, then don't buy them. If they are selling junk for $1K, I hope they are found out quickly and people put them on blast and stop buying them.

I have no affiliation with either of these companies, nor am I in the headlight industry, but I have more than a little experience developing products overseas.
