ok when i deployed to iraq my wife and kids moved back to wisconsin and she couldnt keep my dog b/c he is a full grown german shephered and no place up there would let her rent with him si i sent my dog and truck to tn where my parents and sister live when i left the dog there he would sit on command and come to u most all the time he was only about 8 months old and still very much a puppy so full of energy the dog loved to play fetch so that is what i used to take huis energy out dog to this day has still never hurt anybody including my 2yearold that he played with alot

ok so i drop my dog off and i supply a 200$ dog crate to keep him in when they are not there and they also have a bigger dog that they keep in a kennel out behind there house they didnt play with him didnt keep up his training and pretty much just let him run wild for about 4 months they wouldnt tie him up or keep him in the cage i bought or put him in the kennel they already had b/c they said he would get outa a hole they had in in that again they wouldnt fix

so eventually my mom decides that she would take the dog for me and start training him again well she get a personal trainer (which i dont believe in at all) and has been using this trainer for months now with really no help b/c my mom doesnt realise the whole alpha male thing so the dog is better than he was i offered to pay for the training even tho i didnt want it for him they said dont worry about it then they had his balls cut off i offered to pay for that they said no they came up to wi to visit my wife and kids and apparently bitched at her alot about my me and my dog and all the money they had to spend on him which i also told them they could egt rid of him anytime they wanted to so it wassnt too much of a burden to them they never bitch to me about it or about the cost

now i get a letter from my mom today and she wants me to pay for a broken window that my dog broke in the letter she says they he always jumps on the window when other dogs are outside and this time she just didnt go get him and make him stop so he cracked the window and they want me to pay i dont think this is right i'm gonna pay either way cause i am thankful that they have watched him but i think that its her fault the window was broken and not mine so why should i have to pay for it??

    ur thoughts??

Well, it's your dog... If it were me - I'd just pay for it. It's the right thing to do and it's your mom - so....

P.S. - It's the least you could do for them taking time out of their day to watch the dog while you are deployed.

    Stay safe out there brother.

First thought- You should have just let me keep him! :D

Second though- I know people like that. My mother kept my cat for a while during a move and I offered to help pay for everything, but she refused. That didn't stop her from fussing about how bad it stinks, how it picks on the dog, how much it eats, and everything else though. Some people are just like that I guess. Then again, I have made it up to her 10fold since then by dog/house sitting.

Pay for the window and try not to think about it too much. Just think of it as paying for him to be fixed and fed, instead of a person's lack of control of the dog. Tell your wife next time she starts complaining call her out on you offering to pay. In-laws are supposed to not get along anyway, so it is ok if they argue right? :D

Yea, I mean - I wouldn't agree either really. But what are you gonna do - ya know? It is a bummer for sure!

Here is some bullshit for ya: When I moved in with my sig. other.... She had a female roomate, who not only scratched my truck by writing on it with her greasy little fat fingers, but also once left her cell phone on the floor...

Well, when I moved in - I informed her that she should not leave anything on the floor in case my English Bulldog decided to eat it... Well, she didn't listen and my dog ate her cell phone.

I ended up paying for the cell phone (because it was my dog) - but I REALLY REALLY wanted to choke that bitch out for being stupid.

And, I nearly did when she wrote on my truck and didn't own up to it. Subsequently, we kicked her out.

i'm no telling you anything you dont already know but the right thing to do is pay for hte window. aside from that, the only thing i can think is tryng to find someone else to take care of them. if you cant do that then you'll just have to beat him into being a good dog when you get back :)

P.S. punctuation is your friend. your original post was very difficult to read. i'm no grammer nazi but a few periods or comma's is always helpful
