I would say ask to drive another as similar to your build as possible.

I ordered my truck sight unseen when I was stationed overseas. Military Auto Source doesn't exactly keep a large stock on hand. Especially the Tacoma, which always sell before hitting the lot. I was on a waiting list for quite a while to get my 2018 Pro, it finally showed up about 6 weeks before I came back to the US. So when it was delivered, it went straight back into a shipping container to be sent back to the US. I didn't actually get to drive it until 5 months after I started making payments.

Surprising how many people foolishly toss this kind of money at something they've never set eyes on before and then admit to it. Remind me never to loan you guys any money.

Brand new and vibrations that are out of the normal, take it back. You stated that you had 3 Tacomas before, and I assume then you are familiar with RWD and 4WD drivetrains. If it is broke, there is a warranty, and you may still be in a period where you can return it, based on some dealer policies.

I really recommend driving another new one on your local dealer’s lot if possible. For comparison, I do get a minor vibration around 25 mph on my 2020 access cab. I’m OK with it. It’s so much more tolerable than the highway wheel wobble on my 4Runner.

My sister and her husband have a combined 44 years in the Navy and have done the same thing a least a half dozen times. (In fact, she just ordered her latest and will be picking it up when she makes it back state side in May)
Barring some personal eccentricity, or a body of abnormal height or weight, all it takes is a little due diligence..

You would be surprised at how much money I saved by ordering overseas and foolishly tossing this kind of money at something I'd never set eyes on before. I take it you've never purchased a Tacoma (or any vehicle) in SoCal. I saved the 9.7% sales tax and the nearly $10K markup...you do the math.

Thank them for their service for me! I've got 4 years left to retirement, but 20 is all I'll think I can handle.

Tire pressures are often wrong from dealer. Tires can be out of round or have broken belts, even brand new. Tires can be out of balance too. You don't really say what the vibration is, so you leave any guesswork to be blind guesswork. But as under my avatar says............

And yet I'd consider the tires a starting point.

    Yes and maybe.

Yes you should take it back.

Maybe paranoid. You are is teetering on the proverbial edge for asking a bunch of internet strangers how to proceed with something under warranty and only a handful of miles.

    Hoping it's a simple fix.

Not that I was looking at you specifically but... Surely you wouldn't use your (now disclosed) special circumstances to promote others buying a new vehicle sight unseen/no test-drive.

And thank you for your service.

Funny how the adhesive paper designed to protect hood and roof did not get a scratch.

The only reason I bring up my special circumstance is to highlight the fact that we don't know other's reasons for doing what they do. We can all throw darts from the other side of a keyboard and monitor...

    And your welcome.

Dang looks like you just got bad luck. I’m sure you’re not the first or last to drive their Tacoma’s off their lot with out even test driving or previously looking at it in person.

Cant say I’ve ever test drove any of the vehicles I’ve owned. None of my fun cars ran. And my daily’s I generally have shipped to me from whatever dealership in the US gives me the best deal for the exact car I want. I bought my 2018 when it wasn’t even shipped to the dealer yet. When they got it they put it back on a truck and shipped it 1000 miles to me. Even with $1000 shipping it was cheaper than my local dealers.

If anything would have been wrong with it I would have taken it to my local dealer to fix it. It’s just a fancy second gen with a more fun engine. No need to test drive if you’ve driven a second gen.

Yep, it's 2020. There's a global pandemic. There are a lot more people buying cars sight unseen, between the trucks just not being broadly available and dealerships changing the way they conduct business, to doing everything to purchase the car before actually setting foot outside of the house. Buying without test driving shouldn't be the crux of the matter here.

Hope your vibrations get sorted, OP. Or they turn into good vibrations.

I was wondering if anyone else may have had a similar experience. Yes the dealer looked at the tires first thing. They replaced the rear drive shaft assembly which took out most of the vibration in the body and steering. Yet I still feel some vibration. Yes it could be any number of things. My guess is uv joints. Just don't want to be that annoying customer that eventually they just stop listening to and start giving me the run around.
