This thread is very similar to one started a few days ago here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2018-warped-axles.542541/.

After reading, it seems this ONE GUY is pissed and thinks Toyota built a bazillion Tacomas with this same issue, so he is gonna sue and is looking (or his lawyer most likely) for enough like minded individuals for a class action suit. Anything is possible I suppose but, at least here, when several people have a common problem it is a huge ordeal and hundreds of pages of complaints and tips. Your article you linked got their info from the article linked in the first thread.

Judging by the response to the first thread, this is an extremely isolated event. It sucks if you have this problem and I hope you get it worked out. But again, judging by how quickly other problems have blown up here, this is really not a widespread condition.

Sorry OP, hope you get your truck fixed and move on to enjoy it. Toyota sold 20K Tacomas last MONTH. If it was even just a fraction of a percent we would have heard about it here, because everyone who has a problem with anything posts about it on the internet.

I have had a very slight vibration under 20mph when braking and it doesn't seem to do it all the time, I read somewhere on here, that others have had it and Toyota has said it is normal when slowing down to stopping, maybe I am just thinking more into it cause I read more about it on here and then get in the truck and listen and watch...lol, just turned 26k on mine and just the TSB for the tranny at 8k and the rear axle leak, other than that, it runs great.

My problem isn't a drum issue.. it knocks from the differential after warming up.. every time they pull the drums they are "out of round" I just found this article after my second time in the service bay for repairs... thought it was a interesting read. Now the dealer is wanting to keep the truck until issue is resolved with Toyota

That sounds like it is going the way it should. They'll take your truck, fix it (should be cost-free), and give you a rental (also cost-free because its their issue). Once everything is fixed, you should be golden and can enjoy your truck just like @hiPSI noted!

I have the same vibration when braking, the Dealership says "this is a normal characteristic of these vehicles".

Never had another vehicle do this and not been related to some type of mechanical issue.

Oh well, just learn to live with it...

The Dealership took mine for a ride, felt the vibration, said it is normal, "move on and have a nice day".

Friends ride with me and say, "hey, what is that vibration?"...

Have you tried another dealership or requested another salesperson? Some people find things others do not

I had the TSB performed for the shaking rear end when braking.. New leaf springs..

It made it better, but it still does it...

Now I know what is wrong with the truck... lol

I have the same vibration under 20mph but mostly within the first 5 - 10mins of driving. I just thought it was just due to the truck being cold. My daily drive is only 15/20 mins each way.

I had a brake wobble early on and the dealership replaced the drums, which seemed to help. But even today, 20k miles later, I still feel a rumble under braking.
