Have you pressure tested the entire intake system and manifold? Unless it's an obvious leak, it may not show up until 4-6psi in my experience. Don't pressurize above 6psi.

You can do this with an air compressor rigged up, or if you can find a place with a powersmoke pro machine. I'd guess a diesel shop would have one.

Note: The procharger will leak tons of air around the volute, there is no gasket and it's expected.

Do you have any dyno charts between the two superchargers? I'm currently considering between the two, which to purchase. Would like to see the torque band between the two.

I have not. I do have a local diesel shop I can reach out to when I get the truck back. I would also think if it did have a leak then I would get air fuel mix codes on random cylinders and not just cyl 6 Everytime? It's STILL at the shop waiting for them to do something. They state that compression is better than before when they did the valves. Before it was 98 on cyl 6 while the other cylinders were around 150. Now after valve replacement cyl 6 is up to 120 which I think is in spec and shouldn't cause air fuel mix issues. They say that the leak is now in the cam area and they can hear air with the pan off. They were trying to find a shop to replace the cylinder rings or find a replacement motor. I don't think that's necessary as 120 compression should be OK. They haven't checked injectors yet because they state that it's not leaking. I told them today that I'm still leaning towards either a clogged injector or a bad spray pattern and have asked for them to remove all injectors and clean them/inspect.... They think it could be a false code and are wondering if a tune shop can just disable the air fuel mix codes so it won't go into limp mode. I don't want to do that as there's now many others with pro chargers not having to do that.

I just think it's the damn injector. Apparently the guy that works on my truck only works 1 day a week so this has been dragged out for 8 months now...I just want my truck running good so frustrating.

The cams are above the head, did they mean the valve cover off as opposed to the "Pan"?

If the cylinder in question is 120 and the others are 150 that's pretty indication there's a problem with that cylinder. You should be looking for roughly the same numbers in each vs just saying 120 is ok. Its also hard to make out whats happening based on your post. You say they hear air by the cam with the pan off which I assume you mean valve/cam cover? If so only way I can think of to get air there is through the valve guides. Or if by pan you mean oil pan that would indicate air getting past the rings.

A leak down test it pretty easy and should pinpoint the issue. Regardless I don't think your valve/low compression issue was ever fully corrected. Assuming the rings are OK fixing the valves should have brought the compression results back in line with the others. The low compression needs to be resolved.

Maybe pro charger limiting the revs to 5500 was intentionally done to keep boost to a minimum thus no engine damage.

Anybody have a ProCharger in the Los Angeles area?

I’m scheduled for a Magnuson install, so we can make this happen.

I don't see a reason to get the Procharger. The TVS is used in tons of OEM applications, will surely be more reliable long term and Magnuson is know to offer great kits. Its also proven to be efficient, can easily produce power levels beyond the safe limit of our fuel system/engines and give better low end. It seems like an easy choice to me.

I wouldn't mind seeing them either just to compare but a chassis dyno will miss the low RPM advantage the TVS should offer.

Have you done any tunes for a smaller pulley on the procharger? Or is there not enough support yet?

You'll need to please reach out to YotaWerx and inquire. I no longer represent the company within an active role, and thus am not privy to all of the details and information regarding product release/dev.

I've had a misfire cylinder #1, I've swapped coils, changed coils, replaced upper and lower intake gaskets, compression tests you name it the misfire would not go away. I have fuel injector clinic high flow injectors that came with procharger kit so I figured I had a faulty injector so I sent the injector and the plug adapter back to FIC and they tested and the injector was fine but the adapter was shorting out, they sent new adapter and it's been fine ever since. I'm pretty sure you have an injector issue clogged or contacts in injector plug.

It actually ended up being something wrong with the cyl 6 probably piston ring either from the 7k rpm rev limiter or a fuel wash of the cylinder from the tune being ran too long with issues. I haven't pulled the motor yet but i plan on doing that at some point to inspect the exact failure of the cylinder. Diagnosis was found when pressurizing the cylinder with 90psi only 30psi was holding the rest was coming out of the oil cap.

7k rpm is well within reason for this engine. thats the stock rec limiter for it in other car applications. beyond that valve springs are the limit at around 7500 where it will start throwing rocker arms. have a bore scope for curiosities sake?

if you want to build this engine or have one built hit up monkeywrenchracing.

I've been trying to locate a bottom end. My heads had work done to them so trying to salvage those. I think there's some crossover engines like out of a Lexus that I can swap all the fks assemblies and heads over to and open my options more but still researching that.

I also had cyl 4 rocker arm thrown.

Whole right side looked weird too. Intake on those cylinders had oil stains.
