Hi Everyone. My son purchased a Procomp 3" lift (add-a Leaf) for his 2010 Tacoma Extended Cab. It is part number K5075B.

Anyway, we took off the springs from the front struts to get the strut cap. I tried to install the new springs on the new struts, but it was hard and I was nervous because the spring compressor was bending. I took it to a garage and they said the strut was actually bending under the pressure of the springs and would not let it leave the garage like that. I called Pro Comp and the guy said oh you must have the springs for the Overlander model?? So he said I need the ARB 2883 springs because they are not for the overlander add ons like the bumper, skid plate etc.... He said they could send them to me if he can find them? I just got off the phone with him, and send him my address and details, but this does not sound right to me. Can anyone confirm this? We bought just a standard lift kit, is it possible the springs were packaged wrong? Thanks for your help! I added pics from the garage..

Honestly, I'd get rid of the ProComp stuff and go with something a little better. Dobinson's, Bilstein, Toytec. tons of better options.

Pro Comp coils spring rate are too stiff which is likely your issue with the spring compressor. Some owners complain of stiffer ride quality along with higher lift than advertised, which in your case is likely with a lighter AC Tacoma. The ARB OME would be the better option but the 2883 springs are wrong for your application. ARB springs comes in different heights and the 2883 are more like leveling springs. I highly recommend calling Head Strong offroad and they can give you the right ARB springs for the height you are seeking. You likely will need either the 2884 or 2885 springs. Keep in mind that going with a 3" lift will require adjustable upper control arms for proper alignment.

I went with the ome 2887 And it worked out pretty good with no added weight except an aluminum skid

The 2886 coils are the only one with a stiffer spring rate. The difference in the other part numbers are lift height but same spring rate. OP, Head Strong off road can guide you to the proper ones.

If your looking for 3 inch without a spacer, the 2887 for an extended cab works. 2885 is more like 2.5 unless you run a 5100 shock and adjust the clip up.
