Product idea for a bed rail mounting bracket for rear facing light pod - Does it already exist?

So I made a highly technical mock-up of what I'm looking for:

tacoma front bed rail - 2.jpg

Basically the purpose is to be compatible with a roll-up tonneau, and I would attach a light pod, like a ditch light, to have a rear facing and bed cargo light. The bracket seems it would be similar to the Tonneau compatible bracket from KBVoodoo, (http://www.kbvoodoo.com/shop/toyota...-use-with-tonneau-covers-fits-years-2005-2016) just made to mount a light pod.

Does a product like this exist already? If not, are there any fabricators who would make this for me? I'm in the Los Angeles area, maybe @CaliRaisedLed ? I'm free this saturday ;)

I think about 6-8" above the top of the bed. I'm guessing, really, because I only had this idea this morning at work, and don't have my truck with me to measure. If there is something, or someone can help me with them, I can take actual measurements when I get home tonight.

I’d buy set as long as they work with my solid fold 2.0 cover!

The idea is basically like this:

    IMG_1834.jpg

except it would be made for the front rail, so the horizontal portion would be shorter, and it would have another flat, horizontal tab at the top, to mount a light pod to it.

I would think it would work with any tonneau, as long as it could fit under that foam/weatherstripping that contacts the bed.

Best thing to do is to get some card board and make a mock up of what you want/need. Then measure the cardboard and send measurements.

This is really a pretty basic bracket and isn’t hard to make for anyone with a little metal working ability. Having someone local could eyeball certain things that would cause interference and/or small adjustments to make the end result better.

Cool, I have interest in this idea, so when I get home, I'll be using this CAD program you guys have just taught me to make a mock-up with some measurements.

What was the final outcome here? did you ever have the bracket built? Pics?

I would love a set if I could install them under my solid fold Tacoma cover.

    Please let me know

I had them built by a local fabricator, but after installing them and mounting the lights, I ended up not liking the way it looked, so I didn't keep them on.

I don't know they would work with solid fold bed cover, I'd have to see what it looks like on that rail. Post a pic of your bed cover/tonneau, and if it looks like it could work, I could send them to you, i might still have them somewhere.

Hey do you still have the mounts? I’ve been looking all over but cannot find a thing that would work. It’s Not the best photo of the cover but it’s all I have at the moment.
