I don't have a dog in this hunt, but I am going to say this...

I stand by Chad and his product period. I have emails and messages where Chad has spent a very laaaaaarge amount of time out of his day answering my stupid ass questions. To make it even worse, I have yet to spend a single penny with the man. He has answered every single dumbass question I have had, and entertained every single crazy idea I have ever had to help his business grow for the Tacoma world. I have every intention on supporting him through purchase of products, and I can't wait till I do, along with throwing a proud kbvoodoo sticker on the truck.

Nothing against you guys Oregon Racks, but throwing the blanket statement that Chad stole your idea/design for a rack makes you sound very jealous because you know it will sell very well. You look very unprofessional in your approach and response. If I was a guest and saw w you approached this, I would be very turned off by your business and product. Makes you look like the spoiled little kid who thinks he is the best at everything, but when another guy comes along that shows promise, you pitch a fit.

Chad, keep your head up and keep making awesome products sir, and like Jay Z says "shake them haters off"

    I lost track...
Is a shorter version still planned that would put a mounted RTT at cab level?

    Short answer is yes!

Issue I see is that the total height of a RTT varies by MFG. Ideally I want my tent to have its front lip right at cab height. It will make the overall vehicle about 4" taller yet retain rear window visibility.

Most likely will be building my own rack since there no option on the market that I'm really in favor of.

Perfect height would be at 14" if the truck is to still fit in the garage.

^^^ There was much discussion earlier in this thread about a mid-height version.

So, there will be this one, and one that is 8" above the side rails.

This mid height rack is now designed and off to the laser cutter. They will be available in approx one week.

    Pre-order here: http://www.kbvoodoo.com/shop/toyota-tacoma-bed-rack-fits-years-2005-2016

The first batch will only consist of a couple, so jump on it.

The tall version is 18" above the side rail caps, the mid height version is 10" above the side rail caps.

    Mid Height (10" high)

    Tall (18" high)

Mid height rack parts are now in my possession and ready to ship.

Anyone who orders a bed rack (mid height or tall), from now thru Friday can use promo code "nutsack" and get $25 off.

Little update after a couple months of use:

Thing is a champ. nothing has come loose, recently put a wrench on all the hardware and all is still tight. Powder coat is still fantastic, no rattles, nothing. Just put a set of TRED's on one side as well. Also hauled some loads of lumber and steel stock on it too without issue!

    Lovin' it!
