A lot of you are going to be receiving a large and heavy box in the very near future (if you haven't already).

    Here are some assembly tips

    - Lay out all the parts on the garage floor
    - Assembly the rack UPSIDE DOWN
    - Once it's all together, flip it over, and set it on the truck in one piece

A small 1/4" ratchet with a 7/16" socket will make quick work of the bolting process. Just snug the bolts, no need to crank them down.

Had a little mod day yesterday:
So I really wanted a tonneau under my mid-height rack to protect gear from the elements, but also wanted to maintain the cover's full functionality so I could easily open the bed when needed.

I decided on a Literider because it doesn't require any real estate on top of the bed rails, thus reducing the need for significant modification to the tonneau's mounting hardware.

Regardless, we ended up taking two notches out of each rail to accommodate the four mounting points for the rack. The only drawback is I had to mount the rails over the bed utility tracks (again, to accommodate the bed rack), but I never really use them anyway...

    Pics!
Holding our breath and making the first cuts - no refunds from here on out!

The fit around the rack mounts once installed

    Fit and finish

    Keeping that cardboard dry!

It was definitely a departure from the factory instructions, but overall it wasn't that bad of a job. Just thought I'd share in case anybody is interested in a similar setup with a Voodoo rack.

No it does not. All access to the bed is through the tailgate.

If you're asking me - yes, it does. I had to do some modding to get it to this point, but it's fully functional and will roll open all the way to the cab as intended. Obviously, with the bed rack on there I won't be hauling any quads, water heaters, pianos, etc., but it's nice to have that extra open space and ease of access if needed. I mostly wanted this for protecting gear (camping, skiing, etc.) from the elements and "prying eyes" :spy:, so I anticipate it staying closed most of the time.

Otherwise, without modifications, refer to what KBV said above regarding tonneau cover compatibility with his racks ^^^

    Thank you Maximus Gradient,
I too would like to secure gear while the bed rack is installed. In long bed, I'd like to be able to access the front end of the bed without having to crawl or use a hook to pull everything out.
I like my bak flip, but may have to look for other options with regards to a bed rack.
    Thanks!

    Sorry, just saw this now!

Like I said in my post above, I went with the Literider cover since it appeared to be the easiest/best choice from a design perspective for what I wanted to accomplish. Also, it was relatively inexpensive, so that was added assurance in the event I scrapped the whole thing :D

Here's a pic of the standard mounting instructions for the cover's rails:

You can see that it requires removing and remounting the stock utility tracks inside the cover's rails. This obviously would not work with the KB Voodoo rack - modding the tonneau seemed easier and less risky than modding the rack! Instead, I modified the installation procedure as follows (sorry, it's hand written and might not be clear; PM me if you want high res and a detailed explanation):

Basically, by reversing the installation procedure and mounting the cover rails INSIDE the stock utility tracks I was able to accommodate the KBV rack and only reduce the distance between the cover rails slightly, still allowing the cover to fasten properly to the velcro and maintain side-to-side tension.

Again, in my post above you can see I cut out notches in the cover rails so they would fit nicely against the KBV rack "feet" once affixed to the stock utility tracks without bending and looking chintzy. To mount, I reamed out the existing mounting holes and used the same size T-nuts and screws KBV includes for mounting to the stock utility tracks.

    Hope that was clear!?

Thanks for taking the time to lay this out. I will definitely be doing a mod similar to yours soon! I've been eyeing the KB Voodoo Rack since I first caught wind of it. However, I was discouraged because I wanted to have an operable tonneau along with a rack but it didn't appear this could be done. However, your post has given me renewed confidence!
