Unfortunately I'm rather attached to my tonneau cover and like the idea of keeping gear dry under the rack when it's on. If the voodoo hi-rise crossbars end up putting the rails 10" above the bed rails, I think I can get away with mounting the aluminum basket from the kayak trailer on the rails and then strapping the kayak to the top of that......Do you foresee any load issues with that?

These bars will put the rails 8.5" above the bed sides.

They would handle the load you describe without issue.

So how high are the two positions for the cross bars??? I thought you original post said 10" the you were adding a second lower point.

When do you plan on getting this on the web site and taking orders.

The high setting is 8.5", and the low setting is 2.5".

I got everything cut and formed for the first prototype tonight. I'm making design tweaks right now and issuing the redesign to the shop tomorrow. Parts will be cut and formed, and sent to @Unchained 5150 for testing. As soon as we get a thumbs up, I'll add it to the website and start pumping them out.

Even better, I'm making it so everyone can mount a jack to it.

I added an 11/16" diameter hole to the side.

To mount your jack, put a 5/8" x 3" long bolt through the back of each mount, and a nut on the front side. Crank them down.

Now, put your jack up there, and secure with two 5/8" wingnuts. Done....jack mounted.
