    Here it is with tamper resistant screws in lieu of a knob. The bars will be supplied with the wrench.

    Too shiney and new yet
    So, this should work with an access roll up cover but I'm just not picturing how it would. Would the plates get sandwiched between the side rails and the plastic bed cap/rails? Killer idea btw. Skis are just a bit too long to fit under the cover of a short box in any sort of a rack mounted to the floor of the box.

    The plates get sandwiched between the top of the truck's side rail, and the cover.

    Yeah I know what you mean about the skis. You pretty much have to have something to carry them above the bed.
