So, I just placed my order for the filter from HKS for my truck. I was wondering if anyone else has used this filter before. I bought one for my '89 supra turbo and I loved it. Ill update when I get it in. I think my current airaid filter is a few years old so its time for a new one haha.

I'm not a big fan of air filters that aren't OEM. The reason being that Toyota, as well as most automobile manufacturers, design and use filters that ensure engine longevity. Aftermarket or high flow air filters don't focus on this, they focus on allowing more air, which will also use more fuel as the ecm will try to keep the a/f mix the same. More air will require more fuel. Some say they get 3 or 5 more hp, at what cost? There is a great sticky thread on bobistheoilguy.com that shows more crap getting through with high air flow filters.

Yea, probably, but at the same time all I do is hwy driving. More air means the engine can breath better which in turn lets it work smoother. Yea it will prob consume more fuel but that's negligent. Right now I can average about 21-23mpg doing about 60mph or so. Ill post an update when I get it back and see what kind of mpg im getting after the swap.

The auto manufacturer puts millions into R&D and if they thought those filters helped their engines run better or longer I'm sure they'd use them. Cool man, as long as you or anyone knows what goes on with these. I'm not trying to convince either way. Just the more real world info that is out there, the better. :fistbump:
