I'm new here but I have a question. I am looking at ordering a new Tacoma.

The dealer told me that if I order one now it would be about 6 months before I see it. What is the cut off for the 2021?

When do you think they will start taking orders for the 2022? When does the line change over for the new model year?

    I'm thinking why wait 6 months for a 2021 when I can wait a bit longer for a 2022.

    Help me with your thoughts.

    Thanks

In normal years they start taking orders for the new production year end of summer. I have seen dealerships do them around the august time frame. But with all the current shortages and what have you, you may end up not seeing them until 4th Qtr. We ordered a T4R in Sept 2020, didn't receive it until Jan 25, 2021. But there were already models out and driving around of the same trim level and color we ordered so I don't know exactly how quickly there were able to order them.
