    No other than tightening up where they mount onto the truck there is not adjust that can be made to them.

    When I got the first set (chrome) I explained that they didn't have heated mirrors so they sent me the heated mirror glass. When I contacted them on how to take them apart they said that once they are together you can not take them apart, they will break. Not really sure why they sent me the heated glass then.

    J Gibson, how much wider are these mirrors than the factory mirrors? Do you have any problems with their width even when in flipped-down mode?

    I haven't found these on a website for ordering. Did you order yours through mac1man001 (Rob)? I found something similar at http://www.1aauto.com/1A/Mirrors/Toyota/Tacoma/1AMRP01106/688914/2013. They said they were built specifically for 1AAuto. They also are available for immediate shipment. Are they the same mirror? These extend 16" while mine extend 10" making my truck effectively 12" wider without them being flipped-up.

    Just a follow up post, I installed mine a few weeks ago and was very happy with the look and feel of them. Sure they shake a bit but its nothing I can't live with.

    I do need to bring up one very important problem I've discovered though. The mirror glass has too much of a "zoom" to it if that makes any sense? You know how the factory passenger side mirror has the "object in mirror are closer than they appear" effect that allows you to see a much larger field of view? Both mirrors have the standard mirror glass and as a result I feel that my view of the passenger side has been greatly reduced and as a result I not have some major blind spots.

    Last weekend I picked up a new seadoo on a double boat trailer and with mirrors in both the extended & standard position I felt very uncomfortable making lane changes, especially in the rain/spray. Backing up is the same story, I have a very tough time trying to see where the trailer is in the mirror. My field of view just doesn't seem large enough and I'm not sure why the passenger side doesn't come with the ""object in mirror are closer than they appear" mirror on the passenger side like every other vehicle/mirror I've ever driven.

    I understand this is tricky to explain, I'll try to snap a pic or two with my camera tmmr when I have the trailer on. I'm not really sure of any fix other than the replacement of the mirror glass itself.

    I just measured my passenger side mirror and from the window glass it sticks out 14 7/8" when they are not flipped up. I find they are great just have to watch if in real tight alleys or small garage doors. I ordered the black with power led & heat through rob.

    Ditto...I have no problem changing lanes with the new mirrors but I do have a problem backing up, looking into the passenger side mirror. It just doesn't seem to give enough view of what's happening.

    Also, my wife doesn't like them in the *normal* position particularly either. She thinks they cut out too much of her vision to the side when she's trying to turn. I've notice it but it doesn't bother me as much as her...maybe now she'll start driving her own damn car!

    When I installed the towing mirrors I boxed up the original factory mirrors and put them up in the attic, so I don't know exactly how wide the originals were. The pro-efx towing mirrors that I ordered through Rob are about 16" wide flipped down, and a little wider yet when flipped up, maybe almost another 5". So yes, they are considerably wider, but to be effective as towing mirrors they have to be. These mirrors are basically the optional mirrors on many of the full size Dodge trucks manufactured with the mount for the Tacoma. Being that the Tacoma is narrower than the 1500/2500/3500 Dodge trucks the mirrors have to be at least as wide as they are to see around the trailer you are towing.

    I wouldn't say the width is really a problem per se, but it is a trade-off. If you look at the truck directly from the front they look a bit oversized, but not bad, and from the side or at an angle they are fine IMO. I do occasionally fold them after I park in a tight parking lot and always when I run it through a carwash. Also the larger mirror takes up a bigger chunk of the view out the side windows, so occasionally at some angled intersections I need to shift a bit to see the road or drive I am turning onto.

    I clicked on the link in your post and those mirrors sure look the same as mine (except mine are chrome with turn signals), but I can't say for sure whether they are actually the same. I can say the ones that I got through Rob seem to be good quality and well made.

    Some have posted concerns about field of view in the passenger mirror, and blind spots. I personally do not have those problems. The built in blind spot mirrors in the corner eliminates any blind spot. The fact that the mirror glass is flat and not the curved shape that creates the more common larger field of view and the "objects in mirror are closer than they appear" effect, allows me to more accurately tell how close the trailer that I am backing is to whatever is behind me.

    If you tow a travel or cargo trailer much at all then I think the benefits far out weigh any drawbacks. I hated the best strap-on "universal" towing mirrors I could find. I would happily buy these mirrors again.

    Towed the double seadoo trailer yesterday and again found the same problem, passenger side flat glass is useless and the convex part is the only useful part of the mirror. The flat portion of the mirror shows so little that it leaves major blind spots and really shows its weakness when trying to back up on the passenger side...I don't think I can deal with the passenger mirror the way it is now.

    A quick search of the Dodge forums found that replacement heated glass is about $35 and replacement procedure is below. Any confirmation as to if this will work on our mirrors?


    ---------
    1.Move the mirror into the full down position.

    2.Firmly and carefully grasp the mirror at the top (1) and pull out to separate the upper mounting clips.

    3.Separate the lower hinge type clips (1) and remove the mirror glass assembly.

    4.Disconnect the electrical connectors (2), if equipped.

    INSTALLATION

    1. Connect the electrical connectors (2), if equipped.

    2. Position the mirror glass assembly into the housing and seat the lower hinge type clips (1) fully.

    3. Push the top of the glass (1) back into the housing and seat the mounting clips fully
    ------------

    EDIT: here is some glass for sale for $40, we just need to know from the manufacturer as to if this fix will work.

    EDIT2: Looks like lots of autoglass places can just cut new glass and glue it overtop of the old. This is usually the cheapest option at $20-30. The heat may not be as strong as factory but I feel it would simply pass through one layer and into the other.

    I'll have to look into this some more this week.

    The blind spot I'm referring to is to the front as you look to the side when making a turn...the mirrors block your vision because they stick out into your field of view more than the stock mirrors. I know this is unavoidable but it is going to force me to swap them out after each use to make the wife happy.

    i'm liking the mirrors. had them on for about 6 -8 weeks or so. much easier to see my trailer when pulling it.
    i've not really had any issue w/ the blindspots others posted about, but then again, i don't have a huge trailer that is hard to see around.
    it takes gettin used to w/ the passenger mirror, but even the one on my brother's 04 2500 dodge is flat.




    i am selling the heated toyota switch, as i'm not going to use it.
    toyotapartzone has it for $63.82 + shipping.
    will sell for $60 shipped usps w/ delivery confirmation.

    Nice mirrors. These are based off the 3rd generation Ram mirrors. I prefer the glass layout of the 4th gen Ram mirrors. I'm working on a mod to retro fit the 4th gen mirrors to the Tacoma. I hope to have the design done in a couple months. When I do, I'll post pics and info.

    Thats cool. What is the difference in the glass layout? Is the 4th gen the ones that have the convex on the whole side - 1/3 the glass?

    Just came back from a nice 1200mi trip using these mirrors. Worked great! Actually can see around my trailer!

    A little more vibration than stock, but FAR less than clamp-on extensions

    Just received my tow mirrors and I am in love!!! Easy install and work flawless soon to be heated. Drivers mirror shakes a little bit on the highway but nothing unbearable!

    Anyone else with a 2013 Taco having difficulty getting the integrated turn signal LED's to function with the factory wiring?

    From the instructions with the mirrors, 2012+ trucks should be plug-n-play, provided you have the harness containing 5 wires, which I do. The controls for adjustment work fine over those wires, but the other two wires for the turn signals don't show any voltage coming out of them when the turn signals are on.

    Any thoughts?
    Love the mirrors otherwise, although I won't get to fully test them until I pull the camper.

    Mine's an '09 so it a little different but check all your fuses and relays. They also may have a differences between between models. You might have a different option package that they leave a fuse or relay out that others may have. Check it out and report back please.

    Which model Taco do you have? I have a set of ProEFX mirrors that I have not installed (bought in anticipation of buying a camper). I have a 2013 TRD Sport 4x4 and wonder if I will have the same issue?
