Hi,
Did anyone use the Muth Heated Mirrors H-Mod Heater Conversion Kit to enable the heat function of these mirrors? The switch looks pretty ugly compared to the DIY install write-up by Benson X, but installation with the kit sounds easier and less expensive.

 

Tom you can use any switch you want if you dont care about the timer. Swich, relay and wire from any parts store and $10-$15 later you've got heated mirrors. Only thing is you must remember to shut them off

 

Just curious, but what is the recommended time limit for having the heat on?

 

Thanks for the responses on my last post! I purchased the mirrors a short time ago from Rob. Getting ready to install and I know it's pretty basic install as the mod is basically plug & play except for wiring the heat side of it. So my question is does anyone have complete and detailed info on OEM parts, after market parts, & instructions how to perform the mod for wiring the "heat" side of the Pro EFX mirrors on a 2014 Taco.

 

Ordered mirrors Wednesday AM. Had UPS tracking # in about 2 hours. Received mirrors at 11:00 am today (Friday). Installed by 12:10 pm today. Had lunch between drivers side and passengers side. Very easy, but just power, no heat.

IDK if it's recommended or not but my factory switch shuts off at 10 minutes.

In the instructions for 05 turn signal wires, it states "blue / black stripe & blue / yellow stripe"

Mine are "blue / red stripe" = right and "blue / orange stripe" = left.

Not sure if "you" want to make that correction. I can attach a better picture upon request of the location

Got my new ProEFX towing mirrors! Install was a breeze. it only took about 10 minutes to do both sides!

I just discovered that the LED's are also coming on when the brake lights are on. I'll try to research this a bit more & send any corrections I may find

It appears that the relay needed to activate the side mirrors turn signal LED on a 2014 Tacoma is:

Part # - 81980-02030 - Flasher A

It is located in the relay/fuse box inside the cabin on the driver side. I am not 100% certain but after few good hours spent on the phone and in a dealership I believe I am getting closer. Can anyone confirm my findings from previous experience? Thank you.

Nobody who has the side mirror turn signals connected cares to chime in to help? Some of the forum members posting in this thread claim that they have that function enabled. I would like to know more details please. Thank you.

Sorry...mine were plug and play as my original mirrors had turn signals also. Can't you just find someone with a 14 that has the signals and see what relay is there that you don't have?
