Im trying to figure out where I can go to get my truck professionally sound deadened. After looking into the project i really dont think I have the time to tackle it myself. I live in hampton roads area but I will be working in saratoga springs for a few months later this year so either location works. Ive tried looking at a bunch of car audio shops but no website says anything about sound deadening.

I used to not have the dreaded 50mph rear diff whine, but then i got new diffs with 5.29 nitro gears and now I cant stand the noise. Put way too much money into the truck to sell it and from looking through tacomaworld seems like the only option to even slightly help a post TSB truck like mine is to sound deaden.

Even with the radio up to 40 rattling the truck if im going between 50 and 60 and coast light on the gas the noise is louder than the radio.

Good luck with sound deadening. It might help but if it's as loud as you say it is you'll still hear it. It's expensive too.

Folks don't fuck with your daily unless you have the time and money to fix problems constantly

Yeah id definitely at least recommend anyone who doesnt already have the noise if you are planning on regearing dont get swap out diffs. Keep your differentials and just get the gears themselves swapped. If i would have known about this beforehand I would have done that

I thought I read about updated rear cab mounts that killed that harmonic from the rear end. I don’t have time to search but it’s on TW somewhere. Some had them replaced under warranty and some just bought and installed themselves. Not terribly expensive.

The part I’m talking about was just recently released from Toyota. You don’t have them.

Edit- may be wrong about the date of release.

does yours have that cupped spacer on the rear cab mounts? Mine doesn’t and it’s a 19

I think that’s what happened. There’s a newer TSB to include later models. I edited my above post. Go see if your cab mount spacers look like the ones in the TSB

Yeah i went under the truck yesterday and it has that cupped spacer. I may try to stack a second one of those thin cushion stoppers just to see what happens though.
