I still have the two key fobs that came when I bought my new '03 Tacoma, and they still function well. But they're suffering pocket wear and are bulky. Recently I bought a couple new key/fob combos but I've been unable to program them.
    Two of these:

I have followed this procedure a number of times but the power door locks never lock and unlock to indicate it's ready to accept the new remote.

Is there another programming method I could/should use?

Have you thought about getting new covers for your fobs?

I have and may end up with new covers. But I would like to use the new key with fob combos that I bought.

The above linked video follows the same written instructions I linked in my original post. It hasn't worked for me. I'm trying to discover what I may be doing wrong or are there other procedures I might try.

Check and see if you have the correct FCC#.

I'm reasonably sure I have the correct new fobs. My concern is the truck never gets to step 5 that says:

"5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode." This auto lock & unlock never happens, so I believe the problem is in the truck program process.

If the auto lock & unlock happened, and then it didn't accept the new remotes, I'd be placing the blame on them.

I'm going to guess that the 'FOB' you bought is incompatible with the RS3200. Do the FCC ID's match?

Anyway, here are the stock programming instructions. I didn't compare to what you linked to so...

Those stock reprogramming instructions follow the same steps as my earlier post. My truck doesn't react with the auto door lock & unlock when I go through these steps. That's what puzzles me. I don't believe the truck has any sensors to recognize the presence of a key fob, but maybe I should try this absent of my functioning fobs.

I'm in contact with the seller of the new fobs, we'll see what he says.

    Thanks for all your help.

The seller of the key fobs gave me the same instructions I already had, and no additional help, so no new developments.
    :annoyed:

So, I'll just shelf this until later.

I'm having the same problem with my 09 except I can't lock my doors anymore. Did you ever find a solution?

No, I did not find a solution. I'm willing to try again if someone has some helpful hints.
