I have a question. I'm checking to see if it's possible to get a HU that allows you to have switches programmed in the interface. Something that you could switch auxiliary lights with?

I think I figured it out. Supposedly the Alpine iLX-207 has a feature where you can run up to 9 auxiliary switched items.

Take the Command Center Beyond the Dash
Have you upgraded your vehicle with accessories like a winch, lights, air suspension and a motorized tonneau cover? No need to add switches that clutter your dash. Now you can conveniently control these accessories directly from the iLX-207’s touchscreen! The KAC-001 External Accessory Controller (sold separately) turns the iLX-207 into a hub to connect and control these accessories. Eight individual outputs are available to control eight relay-connected accessories, and the accessories can be configured as Pulsed, Latched or Momentary Outputs. Graphical icons can be assigned to each accessory for quick identification on the screen.

It appears that it's not just the receiver it's more about the adapter. The KAC-001 Controller works with the following receivers.

Compatibility: The Alpine KAC-001 Truck Accessory Controller is only compatible with 2016-up Alpine navigation receivers with the external accessory control feature and that include the iDatalink interface module. Current compatible Alpine navigation receivers include: (as of 1/20/2017)

    • i Series: i209-WRA
    • iLX series: iLX-107, iLX-207
    • INE series: INE-W967HD, INE-W977HD
    • X series: X108U, X109D, X109-WRA, X110-SLV, X109-SRA, X208U, X209-WRA
Note: Not compatible with the Alpine i109-WRA.

I've seen one of these Alpines at work. Saw the install too. It seemed to me like a lot of extra work and money for something you can do with switches, but it was pretty cool. But seriously - this was costing the guy like 4 grand for the head unit, relays and install. Cool to have triggers in the head unit, but overpriced big time IMO.

Wow that's some serious money. The HU is only 600 and the control module is 200, but you can get different priced HU's that are cheaper or more expensive.
