Sorry if this is rehashed, but I couldn't find what I wanted to know via the search.

I'm currently contemplating buying a new Tacoma as a permanent stand-in for my Overlanding vehicle (currently an LR4), but I have a question...

I'm a very experienced Jeep guy, familiar with extreme mods, gears, etc. I know in the Jeep world there are several devices that will not only correct the speedometer with increased tire sizes, but also correct the shift points after re-gearing. No build is complete until the ECU is reprogrammed for new tire size and new gear ratios. I've ready plenty on speedometer recalibration here, and plenty on recommended gear sets, but haven't found what I wanted on a catch-all ECU programmer that fixes both speedometer calibration and shift point correction.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I guess nobody on here has a complete build. A few of us run speedo calibrators. I've never heard of calibrating the ECU for new shift points.

We should end these build threads now!!

Yeah and I'd imagine it'd be difficult to piggyback the tranny!

Lol. Thanks guys, that answers my question. No OBDII plug-in that can program for shift points and custom tire/gear ratios, got it.

Just how large (or small) a tire are you thinking about running that you need to reprogram the ECU for?? I think the largest tire that "fits" only changes the speedo like 5 mph @ highway speeds...

OMG game changer... my speedo is off.

I think the OP is trying to be a bro but has failed immeasurably.

    To the wasteland...
