Swapped out the Overload Leaf for a Wheelers Progressive AAL, and wanted to know what you guys did about the parking brake cable bracket?

Initial thought is to weld a nut onto one of the AAL uprights...

    Any other ideas?

    thanks

This is the original location on the OverLoad leaf where the parking brake bracket mounts onto:

Similar Provisions don't exist on the Wheelers Progressive AAL.

I just cut mine off. I don't think it will ever be a problem.

zip tide mine for now, tried to get it to the progressive AAL guide bolt, but was just too snug. Seems to be holding ok, but I am also trying to think of other solutions.

Drilled out the original Parking Brake Brackets, and mounted them onto the new wheelers uprights.

Will try that for awhile...but I think it will work (bent them abit to be more cable friendly).

While I was under the truck, I also added some washers to the Center Driveshaft bushing/bearing.

Everyone who installs a lift in the rear of their Tacomas, need to remember about the added downward tension on this Driveshaft bushing/bearing.

I'll swap out the washers with an aluminum spacer, after I verify the new spacing is correct :)

Just had mine installed today. No overload and they installed the bracket like this. Does the way they did it look problematic? I don't really like how the line is hitting the edges of the bracket.

Also noticed that just from the drive home the bottom leaf has already moved a bit.

It's a pretty sturdy bracket but you can put a more "cable friendly" angle on it with a pair of channel locks. Only takes about 30 seconds.

After doing my progressive AAL install and flex testing the truck with a jack, I was concerned the additional travel (also got mid travel TRD Baja pro shocks). The cable seemed tight without the bracket when flexed out. I'm pretty sure with the bracket on there something would have to give when flexed out. So I left mine off and zip tied the lose bracket to the next most forward bracket on the truck.
