When I had my 05 tacoma I started off with blocks then switched over to progressive AAL's from headstrong. The progressive pack worked good for a while but the limitting factor would be the oem pack itself. The full stuff and full droop is compromised with the oem pack. I have heard good things about the RXT pack. I ended up ordering a custom pack from alcan for under 1k. The good thing about alcan is you can tell them how much lift you want and how much weight you carry. Unfortunately I have not installed the alcan's since my truck was totaled before I received the custom pack. Luckily they also fit the 3rd gen tacos and I am currently working on my build list for that.

If I were you, I'd jump on the first quality used leaf pack I could find, with some exceptions. If you start asking for which brand to buy you'll be opening up the Ford vs Chevy, vs Ram debate. I of course am gonna say buy the Icons, but of course I haven't tried Alcan, Deaver, or all the other brands everybody else swears by.

I got the icon progressive 3 leaf AAL. It's 3 leafs that replace the factory overload.

So the sum of my rear springs are factory main (3 leaf I think?) And the icon 3leaf AAL.

Old man EMU have been great leafs. Would also consider AllPro leaf springs if I needed to replace mine. Be mindful of the lift.

Do you notice any difference with the bed loaded or not compared to stock?

    pinstripes. lots of pinstripes.
I've got a set of Bilstein front coils and All-Pro Standard leaf packs for sale in VA with maybe 4k miles on them, only 14 miles off pavement and rode really well. They just weren't ready to handle all the extra weight I threw on after I lifted the truck, so I swapped them out with Icon RXTs. Worked perfectly fine with the 5160s which as I understand are the 5100s with remote reservoirs. Let me know if you're interested and I'll split the leaf packs from the coils

Yeah. Even unloaded stock, all but the smallest bumps felt like they were squish slam on the rear suspension, camper shell installed it was even worse. With the AALs installed there is not squish slam, still flexes the first little bit so the ride doesn't seem that much more harsh. I don't have any experience with the bed empty and the AAls installed though.

I went with the All-Pro Expedition pack, I have a lot of weight over the rear end of my truck and absolutely love the ride quality and how quiet the pack is!

Hi Mason, I have a 2015 TRDOR I put a shell on it 2 months after I had the truck. It sagged. I put 5100's all around and OME 885's and AAL. With all my camping gear, and shell that weighed 200lbs and two 100lb dogs. It still sagged.
I then put full medium spring pacs and success. I am still so happy with the ride. No sag and performance on and off road is great. Without weight it is still great.
Hope my story helps as well as others. I pull a trailer also and it is all good.
