Good to know, would of thought it would of just been fine. I have plenty of time to look into it though, still working on learning all the crawlbox ins/outs and donts before I start looking into all the roll cage tech.

Which reservoir did you end up using? The 8.25" or 8.75"? Is the feed for the pump running downhill? I'm looking to upgrade mine to a newer version with the filter.

Measured, it seems to be the 8.75".
The feed for the pump is running down hill, notched the radiator bracket for it to clear and flow down to the pump.

Since this has kinda turned into a build thread..

Got tired of when the rear diff would massage a rock, it would slowly unscrew my drain plug. Pic stolen from @cynicalrider, same trail, same rear, same threads showing after this single obstacle.

So welded it shut, Clearenced a bit more and with the stud eliminator just flipped the bottom two for drain plugs.

What's the plan for oil change now? Pull the 3rd? Or siphon from the fill?

All the studs have been replace with Allen head bolts, all but two have been loctite from inside the diff out. The bottom have been reversed so that you just unbolt them and drain the diff fluid through the mounting holes.

Can you get proper torque on those allen's? Or is that why you loctited it? I know those are on the lower torque spectrum but still.

Yes you still can, it was just an extra step. You can torque them via double nut method. Loctite is there just in case.

If you were to tighten the nut down too much beyond what is was torque to, it could loosen up. Red loctite, requires heat to break free so I figured should be all set.

Bold choice using the Allen heads! Looks good! Fwiw I'm using bolts on my f/r bottom two diff holes and they don't leak and you can tighten them down pretty good.

More slow progress, should be working on the crawlbox.

Trying a new spot for the ARB compressor to run the front hipinion zip locker.
Converted the factory a/c to OBA so had some room where the evap core was located.
Giving it a shot and hope it works out, engine bay is a bit crammed.
    20170904_131847.jpg 20170904_131918.jpg
Added 2 layers of rubber mat to help eliminate the rattling when running. So far, pretty quiet when testing.

And because I love details, replaced the worthless clock with a mount with the 2 rocker switches.

Looks good! I guess there was no easy way to tie the locker solenoids into the OBA setup right?

Thanks! Yea nothing really easy, plus the mess of wires for the 2 swithces and all for the compressor & solendoid it was nice to just hide that all in the box.

Didnt imagine id have all 3, compressor, OBA, and CO2, but it works out.

Nothing wrong with redundancy. It's for that same reason why I have a CKMA-12 compressor and CO2. If I ever run out of CO2 I can always fill my tires another way.

Last week I was prepping for a 4wheeling weekend. 14 years and finally had some trouble with the Elocker motor.

Took some time to rebuild it.

Only a few pics from trail rides at the Cove Campground aka Big Dogs Offroad.

Nothing crazy, but night wheeling with a few friends is always a good time.20180428_221234.jpg 20180428_224759.jpg 20180428_230952.jpg 20180429_000336.jpg

Yep only open for the 4wheeling events (6-8) per year. Great campground and a ton of trails, recommend it. My 6th year going now, events to be at is IceBreakers and Main Jambo.

Waiting for the Diamond housings to come in so have some free time to work on some small side projects.

Picked up the champion radiator for the 1st gen tacoma. Going with a reliable electric fan setup. Radiator is a nice 3 row all aluminum vs. the factory 1 core smaller version needed for the SAS using the 2.7l/2.4l style.

Shroud still unbolts with the factory mounting, and the small rectangle box is where the controller is going to live.

    Parts:

    Radiator - http://www.championradiators.com/Toyota-Tacoma-Radiator-1995-2004
    Radiator bracket kit - https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...MIgPOvzIWN2wIVD7XACh1yowVUEAQYAiABEgKIp_D_BwE
Fan - https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...153,cooling+system,radiator+fan+assembly,2181 (Looks like this was removed from Rock Auto?) Some still on Ebay.
    Fan Controller - http://www.dccontrol.com/relay_controllers.htm

Ah okay so the only thing you had to make was the mounting plate itself for the fan to mount to the radiator? What gauge steel did you use? Also do the rivets poke the rad or are you going to grind them down? I assume the rivnuts on the radiator came like that? And the bracing on the fan came like that? Trying to figure out exactly what parts were DIY and what weren't lol
