Where did you get your welded tabs for the lines, Greg?

I’m doing the same project that @cynicalrider is doing and I’m going to at least attempt to bend my own lines if I have to. But if that goes to shit, it would be nice to have a backup plan.

    Thanks!

    Hey Jason,

Orginially was going to buy from TMR but they are pretty expensive for what they are. I actually found on TG that they sell flanged brakeline tabs. I like the fact that they have a 90* bend to help protect and locate the line a bit better. Bit cheaper too. I usually order TG stuff through Summit Racing now to get a discount, and quicker/closer shipping. Then I picked up some stainless steel zip ties vs using plastic ones.

    Thanks, Greg!

Kinda makes me want to just ditch trying to reroute the OEM hard lines and route some stainless hoses out of the way for good...

Haha no, the plan is to weld it back in place, 2” higher. Then gusset/box the parts of it that will now be above the frame.

Hey Greg, where are you sourcing your brake hoses from? Thanks!

Haha been looking around have ya? It funny, you hear about all kinds of custom brake hoses until you really start searching, and for me at least, it seemed to be a small selection. I ordered from https://www.essexparts.com/spieger-custom-ss-lines took about 2 weeks from order to doorstep. Pretty reasonably priced and quality is nice along with the selection of fittings.

Yeah, and I noticed the same thing. It’s a pretty limited selection compared to what you hear about. Thanks for the suggestion, though! I’ll check them out.

I’m gonna go ahead and order some of the tabs that you suggested just in case since they’re so damn cheap. Be great to have on hand for all kinds of stuff!

Great universal tabs, and very cheap right now. Worth it! Keep up the good work with the frame plates and misc. I'll be plumbing in my manual lspv soon. You or Mike might beat me to it first.

Right on! I like that we have a few of us working the same project right now. Mike’s been a huge help with mine, for sure.

So a couple of weekends ago, the recently rebuilt elocker stopped working again. Figured its had a hard 15years, another one is due.

Couldn't believe the prices on these things, had to be a cheaper, yet finding a quality part somewhere. That cable driven option...too expensive for what it is.

So that had me researching around. As we all know or now know, FJ80 front HP elockers are very similar to Tacoma LP elockers. More so the elocker motors are very very similar yet price differences are very different.

    On RockAuto:

    FJ80 front HP Aisin actuator - Aisin SAT002 - $230 & higher.

    Tacoma rear LP Aisin actuator - Aisin SAT008 - $312 & higher.

After some research through fsm and some LC forums. I found the wiring should be the same minus a use of a different connector between the HP and LP actuators.

Below are a few pics, basically swapped over connectors, plugged in and go. So for $230 and 5mins of your time, you can have a working actuator without the price tag of the drop in Tacoma actuator.

Picked up a new OEM Toyota connector while I was at it. Part# M 90980-11193 (M designated Male connector)

Shouldn't ever have to worry about it again with the cable setup. That's gotta be worth something. Can't believe those are that much though!

I could see that long ass cable being a pain to run and having to extend as I'm sure it's too short. Motor lasted this long, should do good for another few years.

The money I'd save potentially I'd probably lose with that unpinning kit
