The no slip is one of the more elegant options for sure. Good snow driving on your part (being a Canadian on the cold side) is a factor too, most people around here think when in doubt power out which is what gets the locker to start acting strange. Or they pulse the pedal, start hard from a stop.... the list goes on and locked wheels rarely help in snow (just makes it easier to kick the rear end out). I think the Detroit TrueTrac is the best option for a daily driver, minimal maintenance, planetary gear design that is stout, no required fluids in the diff besides the usually 75-90 swill and they can be used as a pseudo locker with the parking brake lightly applied.

In response to your poll @YotePower I think it would be wise to go down to a 33" tire, your acceleration and gas mileage will both be much better and you will likely have an easier time maintaining speed on higher speed roads. Plus since those 35s look pretty worn out it will be cheaper to purchase new 33s as well.

@Speedytech7 yeeeeah I agree. I've always been anti-bodylifts but the 35's look badass. I guess I'll just wait and do it right one of these days and then get 35's again.

Leather really is bomb when everything else in your truck is manual or broken....

I'm a poor example of what to spend your money on though... I've done two seat swaps now and I'm planning on going to a set of Sparco seats next.

Remove bl and go 33s is my vote. id also replace the bodymounts themselves as theyre almost gaurenteed to be dry rotted and worn.

I didn't like my pants getting caught on the fabric, also the fabric was ripped... But the sparcos I want are one of those interesting nylon blends that feels really nice.

Thanks, they are very comfortable. Not sure why the 4Runner got better seat options.

I'm wanting to get some seats out of some kind of sedan. I would prefer leather. I originally wanted to get mine covered but it would be way cheaper to get some nice used ones

Yeah I agree, it is better to start with something that is worth sitting in. The people that just throw nice wet okole seat covers (very expensive) over their junk old seats confuse me. For half the price they could just put better all around seats in. The 60/40 bench is garbage and the bottom portion is thinner than margin of error for smashing atoms. The 95-97 buckets are no better and rare to boot.

    Sub'd.

Interested to see how a project like this turns out. Plus you're not too far away so there is a chance I might actually see it in person at some point. I'm over in Seymour.

I appreciate it man. And hope you're safe up that way. You're closer to the fire than I am.

Thanks. We are ok. Live on a hill behind the high school and can see the glow of the fires from our porch. Just hoping that some rain will help the fight.

@Speedytech7 Those seat look legit. What car did you pull them off of? Why are you going Sparco? And which ones are you getting?

Just sitting here halfway through a 16 hour shift brainstorming about ideas for my truck. I saw the attached pic a while ago and thought it was awesome. I wanna put a Tennessee spin on it and put the TN TriStar on the underside of the hood...thoughts??

Ps the underside of my hood is already red

Yeah maybe just the star and circle part. Definitely make some stencils and use tape! And maybe high temp rattle cans (assuming you weren't going to get it professionally done).

Nope I'm wanting to do it myself. But yeah I just want to do the tristar part. I wonder where you can get blue and white high temp paint

I was just kind of throwing that out there. I really don't know if you'll need high temp paint BUT autozone usually carries quite the variety. I used a lime green once. I think there are different temperature ratings too. Like there's brake caliper paint then there other stuff that's rated even higher.
