    Good luck with this adventure OP. I would agree with BamaToy1997 about replacing the grill - they are actually not very expensive.
    By the way, your fender flares looks faded. Those can be painted also, but you need to use a different primer on the plastic.

    ya but being in Canada shipping is retarded. I will have to order from the US and then customs will take there sweet time.
    The flares are faded. I was thinking about using bed liner on the flares and the front and rear bumpers as well as bottom 3" of the truck

    I will admit that I did not notice that you were in Canada. My mistake. I was assuming that you were still having to order the paint as well, so that might allow more time for shipping of a part, but yeah, I know Canada shipping from US can be time consuming.

    You can use bedliner for sure on the flares, just make sure you prep them just like you do the body. Also buy you a can or two of Bulldog adhesion promoter ( Bulldog ) as a final "primer" right before you spray on the bedliner. That stuff will make oil stick to butter! It will make the bedliner stay on permanently. I have used it and have NEVER had the finish come loose. As for the rear bumper, since it is chrome you will want to sand it down really well before adding the Bulldog and the bedliner.

    haha yup, I bought some plastic adhesion promoter from the local paint place. I already ordered the paint. I go check the mail every single day haha im just so damn impatient.

    i picked up some gun wash, the plastic promotor , 10 pack of filters, mixing cups, masking paper, tape, sandpaper.

    So as you can see im just itchin to start. Damn paint better get here soon.

    If you want my professional advice, I would suggest going to a junk yard and buy a cheap front fender (Any car/truck) and use it to practice your spray skills. When it comes to painting a vehicle 95% of a good job is the prep work, yes, BUT even though the other 5% is a small percentage, a simple mistake can drive you NUTS. Paint is too expensive to make a mistake on, so practice your technique! Find the right speed to go across the surface, and the BIGGEST mistake amateurs make is distance from surface. ALWAYS keep a consistent distance from your subject, and do NOT release the trigger until after you have passed over it. I am assuming you have done a LOT of studying on the matter, but please, if you have ANY questions or problems, don't hesitate to ask! Good luck, and take lots of pictures!

    Thank you! I appreciate all the advice you have been giving me. Iv done some panel repairs and what not but this will be much more invloved.
    I got my "Paint booth" all cleaned up and organized!!

    If you don't mind me asking, how do you have it ventilated, and I assume you have an actual respirator, and not dust a mask. lol.

    Well its in my garage i will take some pics later. Im just using a box fan that fits perfectly in the window to blow out into the yard and the bottom of the garage door about 1 ish foot off the floor was my plan.. Think it will work?
    I have an approved respirator from eastwood coming as well.
    I talked to my buddy that is a 20+ year auto body guy and he said "Dont clear it or mix the clear with the paint. its a one stage for a reason"
    after that he began to tell me "if you really wanted to add depth or durability to the paint clear it but its really not necessary".

    So im thinking since i already ordered the clear should i just clear coat it?
    Or should i try to return it?

    So you are just drawing in fresh, UNFILTERED air from the bottom of the garage door being open? BAD idea. Dust and dirt will get drawn in and settle on the paint, ruining the job. If you are using a box fan to exhaust the fumes, make some kind of dust filtration system for the air coming in. A lot also has to do with where your garage is located. The chemicals in that kind of paint are very dangerous to breath. If you are in a neighborhood where the houses are close together you could be sending out fumes into your neighbors homes, not to mention pets. Hopefully you are in a very secluded area doing this.

    As for your buddy suggestion, you do NOT want to mix the additional clear into the single-stage paint. You will thin the paint out and the coverage will not be good. Personally I would suggest against adding a coat of clear after the paint job. But that is my opinion.

    Painting IN a garage? Take your hose and soak your floor. Doesn't need be flooded, but take precaution to wet the floor under and around vehicle. This will lessen the amount of dust that will be blown into your paint as you spray and move around while painting. I would not use a fan with a partially open garage door unless your driveway is wet as well. Dust is your enemy when painting.

    I remember back in the time, maybe 3-4 years ago, Dupli-Color had a series of videos on an El Camino restoration project. At some point, they were showing how to build a paint booth in your own garage using 2x4's, plastic, fans and cheap furnace air filters. If I am right, the ventilation was negative, this means the fans was pushing air outside the booth.

    I was trying to find this back, but no success. Maybe this can give you an idea on how "not to" ruin the atmosphere of your garage permanently. I found this info very useful.

    Yes. Paint booths blow air out. Fumes and dust aren't something you want.

    Yes i agree bad idea. So could i just turn fan around and have a furnace filter strapped onto that . so air would be pushed out of bottom of garage door?
    Luckily my neighbors are gear heads and one house is forsale.

    After I looked at the video, it looks like they put the air filter on one side of the booth, and then on the other side, the fan is pushing the air out of the booth. This way air can circulate inside the booth, allowing dust and fumes to be extracted.

    The Part 7 video available from the link I posted above will give you an overall idea. However, since Dupli-Color slightly changed their site, the link to the material list and how-to tutorial is no longer available.

    This should help you to build the booth for the job you are planning (if you decide to go that way).

    Yes, the inside of a paint booth is generally positive pressure, but the air to CREATE that pressure has to come from somewhere. That air in needs to be filtered to prevent the dust from coming in. If the OP were to line the length of the garage door that will be opened by a foot with simple HVAC air filtration filters he will be fine. That is how I built the booth inside my shop. I have one medium sized, but high volume fans that draws air through a filter and creates positive pressure inside the booth so that when I go in or out the air pushes out rather than draws air in. But the air still has to come in to create the positive pressure.

    ALRIGHT GOT 2 EASTWOOD BOXES!!!!!
    Everything is here except the painting mask. so i will have to buy one. Apparently i never added it to my cart when i made the order??
    Still debating. Should i return the clear coat?
    or should i just keep it and spray it on?
    Im going to the lake for 3 days so will start when i get back!
