I also bought mine with a body lift. Removing it was the best thing ive done since owning it. Highly recommend it

Mainly looks. But the ride improved after i took it off. The pucks were starting to wear and soften. Plus i feel more comfortable knowing my body isnt sitting 3" above my frame anymore

Looks sweet. Now just take off the body lift and it will look even better and be safer.

I always figure if you expect 3 days of bodywork, then plan on 9! Lol.

I had lost track of this thread a while back. Looks like you have a pretty good job done there. It looks awesome, and you have done a lot of great work to it.

I was catching up on reading and wanted to ask, you had mentioned using Bondo, which technically is a brand name, so I wanted to find out something, did you have any bare metal where you used the body filler, and what kind of body filler did you use? Did you use polyester filler, or true "bondo" filler?

The reason why I ask is because there are two different types, and they both look, and mix exactly the same, but WHERE you use them is different. Polyester filler is to be used when you are filling large scratches, or small dents where no bare steel is exposed. Base body filler (Non-Poly) is used for filling larger diameter areas, or areas where the steel has been exposed either from the damage, or from sanding.

Polyester filler is waterproof (Thought yes, it does get wet like everything else when you wash it) and the other standard body filler that is NOT polyester filler is NOT waterproof. What that means is if you used the non-poly stuff, then when you wetsanded and washed, some moisture may have seeped into the filler.

This can result in water getting trapped under the finish, and eventually wicking down to the bare metal under the filler (If you applied it directly to bare steel) or getting stuck under the primer (Another question would be did you use just primer, or did you use a primer/sealer) where it is possible for it to freeze in very cold climates.

Well it has been on there for 120 000 kms and it hasent had any issues. The 3" spacer lift on the front however is in my eyes more dangerous.
Thus is why i swapped for the 5100's you can see in the picture.

Thanks man. There hounding me hahha.

Yea no doubt. I was planning on one day of body work!!! haha it took one day just to get the damn spray on bedliner off.

And I just used basic name brand Bondo in a red can. I hope it all works out. After wetsanding and what not i had let the truck dry overnight before any painting. .
The primer is Epoxy primer/Sealer from Eastwood aswell.

It is possible that with an overnight dry time that the moisture wicked out. The job looks pretty dang good from the pictures!
