I haven't yet inspected this Taco however the body apears to be straight.
?1.doe's the pass side inner fender surport appear to be bent?

?2. the lower front frame surport is bent in a tad on pass side maybe this could be heated up and pryed out.

?3. probably the most expensive part would be the airbag, I have the understanding that only a actuale body shop can replace ABs is this true or false?

?4.lastly for right now are body panels interchangable from years 2005-2011?

This truck took a good shot in the front and pass. side however it's appears to be borderline on it actualley being totalled, it's estitmite for repair is 8 grand I think the replaceable parts are all bolton stuff.

Smart tow truck operater throws front bumper in back hoppefully it came be plastic welded or maybe expoxyed.

I'll be doing my research was hopping for few quick responses. then drive this Taco for 250K trouble free miles.

inteaded use is a daily driver more importantly a tow vehical for a 3K load on a 300mile one way trip couple times a year. I do understand it's tow capcity to be 3500Lbs so it's well w/in it's limits.

    Thanks Steve

    Too much, thanks TW.
I would put it on a frame machine first.
Something more than what you see if they totaled it.
Have a good frame man look at it and add the cost of all the parts needed first. Just my .02. Good luck

Frame would be my first concern after that it's just parts and labor

these Trucks are built like tanks very well made vehicals I will thoughly inspect under carriage before purchase looking for creases flaked paint ect. hopefully a trame guage will revelve if a frame machine is nessasary.

I have researched prices and availabitly on parts seams there resonable priced and readlly available.

what are you opinions on ?s 1-4.
    Thanks STB

I don't think I would even worry about the frame. Hell, it looks like the flimsy radiator is not even bent. Nice find! An alignment might be a good idea when it's put back together.

After reading what others are saying and thinking about it some more, if the price is right, do it. I know you will have a great truck after fixing it up. Search and search again for parts and best price. For some reason the airbags do not aways deploy in front end hits so you should be able find a matching steering wheel and complete airbag through searching around.
Like I said before, if the price is right, do it! You can always fix it and sell it for another Tacoma. Good luck and keep us posted with updates and pictures. Search TW and you will find others on here that have done what you are thinking of doing. Some have been alot worse than the one you found. There is a blue Tacoma rebuild on here with great documentation and pictures. If I can find the link I will send it to you. Good luck.

yes the rad core surport looks undamaged, the obvious frame related damage is the lower crash surrport slitley dent on pass. side. it will interesting to see how much this Taco goe's for what do you Guy's think it's worth. they have 2 2011s one has 900 miles the other has 25K.
    Thanks Steve

good sugestion on obtaining a complete steering wheel assemble, can it be a 2005-2011 and are all these years body panels interchangable?

edit 1: you are correct on airbags not being deployed I believe it's determined by the speed of the impact these trucks come w/ side roof airbags when they deploy doe's it rip apart the headliner?

my main concern is the inner fender surport not sure it has been bent any thoughts maybe you nice Taco Guy's can post a image of a unbent inner fender surpot for comparision.
If I'm able to obtain this Toca I will completely document the rebuild.

PS a link to a rebuild would be nice.

edit 2: I see a class 4 hitch, and a small oil cooler how would I know if this Toca has the factory tow pakage w/ the electrical trailer brake connections or is there a controller on the left side of dash from factory (it's a automatic trans)?
    Thanks Steve

Buy long travel suspension. Fiberglass fenders. Baja bumper. You'll end up doing it anyways by being on this forum.

this will be a street tow vehical.
