I recently purchased a 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD OR 4x4 DCLB AT in magnetic grey on 2/6/19. This is my first truck as well as the first vehicle I will be investing money into.

I figured Surf n Turf fits perfectly since this build is mainly for surf and off-roading trips and if I can do both in the same trip even better (what's up Baja)!

My goal for this thread is to document the build as well as help other 1st time Tacoma owners through my modifications as well as any and all mistakes made. I hope to build a truck that I can use for surf/camping trips along the west coast.

Throughout the build I will post photos and a description for any/all modifications made.

Definitely get a WaterPORT for rinsing off that sand.. I have an earlier model, but they are a great addition..

I will definitely look into that! A buddy of my did a DIY setup with PVC piping on the top of his shell. Not sure how complicated that was, but I would rather buy a trusted product.

    Update:

Finally popped her cherry and took her on some trails up in Gorman, CA. She's been running great and coming up on 1 year. Currently having the SnugTop shell placed on and will update with more photos once that is done. Hoping to do a few more trails soon and mess with the crawl control feature.

    Update:
Had a SnugTop Rebel Camper Shell added to the build! I added a USB plugin, LED light, center fold down/sliding window, reinforced roof and Thule tracks to the shell. Been waiting for this for awhile and stoked to now begin working on a temporary camping setup inside the shell. Planning on doing a simple 2 drawer and bed platform build. Will update once it's done.
