There is no H1 with the same output as a D2S bulb. Go look up the lumen output pretty much anywhere for any brand and the H1 Xenon bulbs put out exactly 2/3 the lumens of D2S bulbs. Halogen H1 = 1000 lumens, the Xenon H1 is 2400 lumens, the D2S is 3200 lumens. People use D2S bulbs in custom, high end flashlights becasue the H1 bulbs dont produce the lumen levels. If they did people would use them becasue the integrating sphere does not lie... go to candlepowerforums.com and see if you see any Xenon H1 based lights equalling the performance of D2S lights. If there is a new H1 Xenon that does 3200 lumens I would certainly look in to the mini H1.

I see what they did.... they took a Phillips D2S bulb and refited it to work with a H1 connection. That sounds like a special one of a kind item. Regular H1 HIDs would only be 2400 lumens.

check your sources before you make claims on this. that h1 bulb is a 4300k with a rebased bottom. same thing as the oem d2s bulb. and if you want to go on, call up matt at theretrofitsource.com and ask him this. you will be disappointed with the answer

Color temp does not have anything to do with it. 4300K H1 Xenons (the ones that are produced to work in H1 refletor housings and not specific projector housings like this) put out 2400 lumens. Your term of "rebased bulb" was just not understood by me. That is a D2S Xenon bulb, not an H1 Xenon bulb. People should also know that regular H1 Xenon bulb replacements wont work correctly or with the same output. However that is really a slick set up now that I understand it more. My only concern would be the custom bulbs that have to be used with it. Does the retrofitsource make those in house?
