That is a great idea! Where can you buy just the lense?

Your fogging could be caused by one of 2 things. If you're fogging is water just fogging up on the inside, then you have a bad seal. Baking them and resealing them would take care of that issue. If the lens has developed a haze right after you assembled them after doing the BHLM, you likely did not let the paint fully cure before assembling the lights.

If you can do the BHLM, you can do a retrofit. The H1 minis and the D2S minis secure to the OEM reflector bowl using a silicone base and a lock nut on the back. There is also an alignment tab that keeps the projector level using the stock bulb seat.

It was a few years ago but I believe a portion of them got fogged during the BHLM (didnt look like mostuire). If it was due to moisture, it was most likely because I did not let the paint dry. Again it was a few years ago so I cant recall exactly.

Can I just purchase the lenses? If so, where?

Also, I did use that sealant. The issue wasnt what I resealed it with, it was pulling it apart with the existing sealant. It seemed like it was cooling too quickly for me to just pull it apart. I used a screw driver to scrape it out and it actually turned into a bit of a mess. Perhaps I was hesitant to heat it up high enough.

Odds of finding lenses is basically 0 unless somebody has some laying around. Think about it, if the dealer is replacing a broken headlight why would they unseal all the broken pieces to put a new lens on? They will just toss in a whole new assembly because it takes much less time

You might be able to get lenses off someone who does retrofits. Try someone like AsainAnt, he might have some laying around. I haven't seen a place to buy just the lens yet.

As far as pulling them apart, even when heated, you have to work a little bit and pull slow and steady for them to come apart. I keep mine in the over for 10 minutes. I believe I preheated the over to 200, shut the oven off, then put the headlights in for 10 minutes. I wore Nitrile gloves to help with the heat so I didn't burn my hands.

I'm not sure where to buy just lenses. I'm sure you can find some though. The way it worked for me was... Before I thought about doing a retro fit I bought new (cheap $80) headlights off eBay. I had them on my truck atleast 3 months without any issues, they still look clear as day. When I thought about doing the retro fit I decided I was gonna use the stock housing (stock lenses were foggy) and rip the clear lenses off the $80 eBay housings. Put extra sealant around the edges and all turned out good, so far. Hopefully I won't have any issues.

I'm sure you can find lenses out there, just not sure where.

Here is the light output from the new projectors (non HID)

They are "slightly" less than stock but not bad by any means. No problem with leaking at all. If you do decide to go with those lights make sure that you go with the CCFl Halo's otherwise they will not show up in direct sunlight.

Thanks man... I'm sure they will come out soon enough.

I had reservations about them at first since they were a spur of the moment buy because I'm worse than my wife when it comes to shopping lol. But the longer they have been on the truck the more I like them. Like I said before... When they do come out for your truck make sure to get the CCFL Halo's so they will show up in the daytime.

B.Turner what made you pic those particular ones from Amazon? Seems like there are dozens of headlights that look like that from amazon. Were those the cheapest? Certain brand?

Also, you could put new halogen bulbs in there and improve the light output right?

Originally I was going to do a Retofit on a pair of Anzo lights that I bought off of Amazon a while back. The original Anzo lights that I bought off Amazon looked just like the factory lights with the exception of having the blacked out bezel on the inside. When they came in I decided to do the BHLM on my factory lights just for fun and they worked out perfectly. I had the Anzos sitting in my office floor for about 3-4 months and was going to eventually retro them but I was buying some stuff off Amazon one night and these new Anzo projector lights caught my eye. Since I'm worse than a woman when it comes to shopping I thought what the hell... If I like them I'll keep them if not I'll return them. I ended up selling the original Anzo lights that were sitting in my floor.

Left them on for a few weeks and really started liking them plus they get a LOT of comments (mostly positive). Light output (on mine) is fine but I've heard others say that they suck. You can judge for yourself from the above picture. They are truly a plug and play light with no wire splicing involved.

Are they as good as actually Retrofitting your factory lights? Hell no! Nothing is. Not even the factory lights. But I didn't have to pull the lens from the housing again and do all the work to the lights. These literally took 10 mins to install then another 10 mins to adjust like I want them.

I've been really happy with them now that I've had them on the truck for a month or so. No leaks no problems.

Anyone have any experience with ebay/Amazon projector headlights that come with the Xenon HID. Am I better of with halogen? It doesnt cost much more if anything to get one with the HIDs.

That sounds like a lot of work. I was referring to the regular lights painted black already I think there 130 bucks. I decided to go with depo lights cause I have to pull them apart any way to retro fit them so ill just paint them myself and save some money. Do the angel eyes require a special shroud to mount them?

I've heard depo is a good OEM style. And yes they will fit. They are meant to be the exact same size and shape of the stock housing/ lense because they have to fit just like OEM headlights.

If your mounting the halos on the inside of the shrouds then no, the wires will be hidden. If your mounting on the outside then you can mount them on any shroud, you just gotta run the wires on the bottom so they aren't visible. Maybe paint them the same color as the shroud? I did and they can't bee seen.

So, to answer your question... No, you don't need a special shroud.

Only thing is, make sure you get the correct size halo. If your mounting on the inside you'll need a smaller halo than if you were planning on mounting it on the outside. If your not sure just call them up and they can let you know which one/ size you need.

Alright so I am leaning towards getting some Depo OEM style headlights with the TRS HIDs. It looks like the only difference between the four offered with a TW discount is the projector and bulbs. Is the H1, D2S and FX-R stage III significantly better than one another?

Mini H1 Stage III Kit: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=227
Mini D2S Stage III Kit: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=237
    FX-R Stage III Kit: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=141

Also as far as the options:
    1. Ballasts: Probably stick with the 3Five
    2. Thinking 5000k. Is the XB35 worth the $20 to upgrade.
    3. Halo. Thinking white. I have seen some people with red. Is that an option?
    4. Wire Harness. Which one is compatible with an 08 Tacoma?
