So I've seen two posts on a Facebook Tacoma group about this so far today. Wanted to pass it along just in case others haven't heard about this yet. Looks like Toyota may be issuing a recall on Propeller Shaft Universal Joints

It appears some 2005-2011 Tacoma owners may get a letter from Toyota.

This is a letter photographed by a member of that page:

Toyota says in the second paragraph that the "majority of vehicles" will not experience this condition. But it appears this is a response to numerous complaints about drive train vibration or noise.

    Warranty enhancement. Not a recall.

Good to know. My 2009 occasionally clunks when coming to a stop. Had the dealer check the carrier bushings and all the joints. No visible problems but I bet mine will eventually need the new propeller shaft. Only have 78k miles right now.

I just got that letter in as well, I only have 30k miles on my 2011 I do notice that when i take off from a start it feels like 2nd gear is a noticeable felt shift, but the other gears shifts are not felt until like 30mph, then it can be felt again very slightly (feels natural). My brother thought there was a hesitation due to this "thud" upon take off, happens almost immediately on take off, like...2.5 seconds after giving it mild gas. (its less bad if i FLOOR IT) Im wondering if its the shaft, OR.....is 2nd gear noticeable in these vehicles? i dont recall it ever doing it before. No vibrations at any speed and no clunking when stopping.
