Guys I plan on doing this tomorrow so I need your help.

Back in the day, the method was to use the criss cross, i.e. left front to right rear, right front to left rear. Left rear to left front, right rear to right front.

It now seems like now the method is swap left front and left rear, right front with right rear.

What method is the best in your opinion and why?

Criss cross is best, but can induce vibrations as the tire wears into the new rotation, so best practice is taught, cross to rear, rear straight to front.

I criss cross my own tires every time.

Front to rear doesn't address shoulder feathering and it only gets worse with time, especially on trucks.

Big problem is cross rotations are more of a pain at home without a hoist.

That's my method, and yes, it's a pain in the butt. Loosen 24 lugs, put the truck on stands, front left tire moves under right rear bumper, then rear left tire fills the blank, front right tire fills the blank, rear right fills the blank, tire on ground gets put back on. Drop the truck and torque 24 lugs down.

I have a full size spare on the same wheel so I do the rearward cross. Having a 5th tire/wheel in the rotation actually makes it super easy.

If you buy your tires at Discount Tire, they do the rotate and balance for free for the lifetime of the tires. So that's what I do.

They'll do the rotation for free even if you didn't buy your tires there.

This is true. However, my local DT is so busy its faster for me to drag the trailer out of my garage and dig out the stands and jacks than it is to book an appointment with them.
