I like a 4Runner for the back seat space over a DCSB. But as far as cargo volume goes I think even a short bed is more comparable to a larger SUV than a 4Runner.

If you camp inside a vehicle, a 4Runner just isn’t a good option. You can lay the seats down and fit, but you better plan a place to put all your gear. With a DC Taco you will always have the back seat as well as the bed. Although with a SB your feet might get a little chilly.

Im gonna Line-x the whole truck when the paint starts getting chipped and faded. Seen a lot of jeeps do it and I live in the PNW so it would be nice during winter with all the salt and rocks.

Would there be any value to using Line-X underneath the truck for rust-proofing? Southern-guy that sees snow once every ten years question. :anonymous:

If prepped correctly it would for sure prevent fram corrosion, probably add a bit og weight as well. Dont know if I have ever seen anyone do the under carriage, most peple just use that fluid film crap lol

I'm 5'11" and just built a sleeping platform for my short bed w/ an ARE MX shell. Gonna be doing about 4 nights in it next weekend. I will let you know how it goes, but I fit diagonally and tend to sleep on my side anyways (of course I measured before I pulled the trigger on a shell haha)

I can shit in my shitcan in my shell and haul the shit if I wanted forever without it affecting my driving. Try that with a flubber. Favorite shitcan story: doing it on the side of Panamint Valley road while the flyboys were practicing overhead. Really romantic. Wished I had someone to share it with, which is why I posted this.

I had one on my 06 taco it was great, this 2019 has a tonneo cover , seems pretty need costs about the same, ill try it and see.
The CAP was nice because I floored in up to the wheel wells and that doubled the storage. , I had OME leaf springs to handle the
extra camp gear. Great for sleep .

2nd gen but idea is the same. Originally added it as I found I needed to cover for rain all the time or had stuff in the back. Recently added a sleeping platform. Missing but added now is also a section work switches and power charging, lights etc.

The one thing I would switch would be adding windoors. Hot summer days are no good. Tried some fans but bit enough air flow. Will be great in winter.

That look a bit claustrophobic with that tall platform.
