It’s generally good for preventing slippage, but sometimes my S/O complains it gives her butt a rash.

I have the 1/4" horse stall mat from Tractor Supply you buy by the foot. It is made from little chunks of recycled rubber glued together.
Pros: keeps stuff from sliding around, cheap.
Cons: Expands a lot when in the sun, will break apart if rolled too tight or pulled from a corner

I don't see any complaints about theft. They appear to be easily removed - quickly.

I thought what do I need with an overpriced piece of rubber ? I found one on Craigslist , bought it , and found out pretty quick why people went on and on about them. I took mine out the other day to clean under it , nothing but some acorns and some twigs . Its a good investment , nothing slides around and when it gets dirty , spray some 303 on it and itll look brand new.

Another option is bolting it to the bed. There are some drain holes near the front that you can use if you're wary about drilling. Or you can just drill - a few small holes won't compromise the integrity of the bed. I have a gear chest on mine that is bolted through the bed, and I also have a lockable tonneau cover, so mine isn't going anywhere :) But for most people, a few small bolts in the corners should be plenty. I have a buddy who uses butterfly screws on the underside so it's easily removable if need be.

I have a cap. I put a piece of carpet in. Love it nothing slides around and if I want I can open the tailgate and pull the carpet. Anything on it slides out wit it.

What’s been said is great down side someone could steal it easy. I love mine I also keep a good sized piece of cardboard under in case I need to get on my hands an knees to change a tire etc a little cushion on my fat body an don’t get totally dirty.

I have had one since truck was new. I just took it out last weekend to clean oil and dry grass off.Check bed drain holes when it is out. I enlarged mine to 1/2" , the original size is too small and clogs easily. The only other time I remove the mat is when I use my load handler. It won't slide well on the mat.

Good point about the cleaning. I had a load of mulch one time and after I unloaded it all, just slide the mat out and shake it off, bed was like 95% clean.

i spent the first two weeks owning the truck without one and i dont know how i lived. After getting one, food tasted better, the sun was brighter, i loved going to work. Ok, maybe thats a little dramatic, but its a must have, and the oem works awesome.
