I went to Big R looking for the mat and the one I found was about 3/16 thick, the price was $80 for the size of the bed..

I might as well buy the OEM with the TACOMA lettering on it for $100.00

I purchased a stall mat from tractor supply cut it to fit, and love it. Best $25 mod so far.
Pro, nothing slides ands crawling under the tonneau (voodoo bed rack so the tonneau doesn't open) does not hurt anymore.
Con my propane cylinders, cooler, and some containers are a very tight for height wise.

I found another use for the bed mat. Sometimes I wheel with jeeps :der: and they break a lot.

I dont keep anything in the bed of my truck, so I let them use the bed mat. They like to use it to lay under their broken jeeps and fix shit.

PROS - non slip.... even in rain or snow, able to throw bricks or inert debris into the bed w/o majorly chipping the plastic, and you're able to sleep on it without needing to go to a DR. afterwards...

CONS - the black fades over time and becomes tempting when another tacoma owning asshole feels he/ she needs a free bed mat....

$25.00, might be worth drive 30 miles to the nearest tractor supply store.

Definitely worth it. OEM the way to go. Can get them on sale every now and then for $90. They are substantial in weight and cut perfectly.

Is that really an issue? I'd think anyone who is able to afford a $40,000 truck wouldn't want to risk being caught stealing a $90.00 mat. Now some crackhead or wino might snag it for a fix though.

Obviously it depends on what you are hauling. Somethings you’ll want to take the mat out for because you’ll want it to slide in the bed.

Most things I find I use the mat. Probably one of my best purchases.

Tried to find the guy I bought it from for ya but looks like they’re no longer available through him. Notice the bed mat is so good I ordered 2. One for a buddy a few days after I initially purchased mine.

Wasn't there a guy on TW that sold OEM Toyota parts for cheap? I wanna say I found his link on here somewhere and he had the bedmat for like $70. It's been on my get list for a while now. Still haven't pulled the trigger. I damn near bust my tail every time I wash the truck without it. And when I painted my house I din't have ratchet straps so I was sliding around like 4, 5 gallon buckets of paint. Very lucky they didn't explode on me. I'll definitely get one when I get my soft topper.

@Unchained 5150 brought in the deals.

But they aren’t all the time. Deals are good for a set period of time.

Helping or hindering depends on the day. Impromptu large item retrievals, hinder. Any other time I don't want to be able to slide things around, awesome. Pros outweigh cons.

ALSO: If you have a tonneau or cap, it creates a layer over the bed so the water that inevitably finds a way in runs under the mat and not on/through your items (in my experience)
