its been done by a few folks on TTORA and CT for about that much...

at least the couple that i saw, were done with mostly used parts or getting parts at the right time (group buys, others who gave up on their projects, etc)...

HAHAHA i only ment to sas it not put hydro assist steering on it and i machined the knuckles but waggy axles come with flat tops "some of them a belive 86" but all you have to do is tap them so in all the SAS is around $1200 but if you go and do all the other crap i did its way more than that pump and hydro assis was around a grand in its own lol but you dont need it unless your turning 37's or bigger plus you can mod your pump to put out more PSI so you realy dont need a TC style pump. and you dont even need a histeer setup to run sas its just what i did for the rocks u can use the normal steering setup off the waggy axle or if you go full width from a dodge i think havent got into thoes axles too much but yeah let me know if you want to do it and i could come up with a build on how to SAS your taco for cheap! Plus sky manufacturing gave me a great deal all you got to do is ask them for a discount and they will hook you up sky is a cool dude.

Con: taking a million bucks worth of suspension design and throwing it out the window to make the truck sit a few inches higher.

Pro: If you have to ask...

Gawd I hope they didn't spend a million bucks. Stock suspension on the TRD is really weak.

Take a look at a real "Off the Shelf" Off road truck.. The 2010 Ford Raptor SVT. If TOYOTA really spent a Million, it would have been more like this truck. :D

All we are trying to do is take what TOYOTA claims to have done and sold us all a weak attempt at "Off Road" and make it more of a realistic venture.

We ALL got Jipped. My 2007 Turd was the first ever NEW vehicle ever purchased.

The EPA estimated Gas Mileage on the Sticker was an all out lie. I never got more than 16MPG, not even on a flat road going 60MPH. Everyone I know that owns or (Owned) one can attest to that.

My Fathers 2001 Camaro SS gets 26 MPG HWY and has 450 HP.

The transmission or rear end has a shudder when I take off from a stop and even worse towing.

The tailgate folded in half under the weight of one 250 pound dirt bike.

The original leaf pack was so weak, I couldn't even carry (1) 250 pound dirt bike around without riding on the bump stops.

With the tow package, the manual said I can tow up to 6500 pounds and support a tongue weight of 450-650 pounds.. ROFL !!!

Wow that sucks. I ride a 250lb and a 360lb dirtbike over my tailgate into the bed all the time, no problems. And I've driven all over with 2 bikes, water, gas and gear in the bed and never hit the bumpstops, no need for the TSB even. I agree that it can be a bit under sprung for loads of concrete and towing but it sounds like someone stole a couple of your leafsprings.

I get right around 19 mpg and thats a combo of city and highway ( and thats with the TRD S/C, APR X1)

I still think I am going with a 6" kit after checking this thread :)

After 2000 miles I cannot get my 2010 DC 4x4 SB to get under 17 mpg. Thats 70-100 mph highway, driving fast in the city, some stop and go traffic thrown in here and there. That is with premium gas though.

Dios Mio! that's awesome. With my topper, tool kit, and mudders I average 15mpg, mostly highway but I have alot of elevation gain going to work... but then again it's mostly downhill the other way...

My fleet Chev 2500's get about the same mpg as me with a loaded bed and 5 people in them.

Still stoked on the taco, before the topper and with the stock tires I got about 20mpg so no complaints, it's all my fault; plus I always seem to have about 200lbs of stuff on board + the dog.

DLPerry432la, that ford Raptor is pretty sweet but it's $10k more than a taco TRD OR. It would be easy to build a Taco to out-do the Raptors specs with 10k.

Lets put it this way. Last week I finished removal of a 6" DB lift. Yes, this included welding back #2 crossmember. While I like the way my truck looked w/35's and 6" lift. It drove like the biggest piece of shit ever. That and all the noises that come from a DB lift....sounded like truck was gonna fall apart going thru a parking lot + tire shake and other problems, made me hate driving my truck. Now, 'only' have King CO's in front, AAL w/Bilstein 5100's rear w/285/75/16's...Much better now. Truck drives great, and has resale value again. My 2-cents, dont go with 6" lift
    Before w/6" lift

After my first oil change with Mobil 1 5-30 my milage has dropped and I now get 16 with a low of 15.85 mpg. I will switch to 0-30 or 5-20 synthetic and see what that does. Part of the reduction in milage is my remote start Viper alarm so it idles more as I walk up to my car, reducing my milage.

    New truck....so nothing yet
When I had the Taco, I ran OME 885's with Bilstein 5100's in the front and Toytec AAL and Bilstein 5125's in the rear. I could not have been happier, that set up is the cats ass!!! It measured slightly over 3" of lift but looked great!! Worked/felt great too. NO truck looks as good with a 3" lift as a Tacoma especially with some nice tires crammed under it.
