I have a brand new 2015 Tacoma Off-Road. I live in Phoenix, AZ. I put some cash into it with a lift, 20in wheels and tires, replaced chrome bumper with sport bumper painted, amp powersteps, etc.

PAINT: what can I apply to protect the paint from extreme sun and heat to get the life out of it?

PLASTIC: what can I do to protect the plastic from drying and fading so quickly in this AZ climate?

My last truck (2005 TRD Sport) started oxidizing and plastic fading within 5 years.

    Thanks

There are tons of products out there, many of them good. These are what I use. The Wolfgang paint sealant is a high quality synthetic wax that can last a solid 3 months with proper care. I apply it monthly just to be anal about it.

The Meguiars black plastic stuff works well but there may be better products out there. Use this stuff monthly Bottom line is, any quality wax and plastic UV protectant will work well if applied on a schedule with regular washing in between. The type of product you use matters but it's hard work and elbow grease that will keep your paint and trim looking new.

You will want to clay bar occasionally but in my experience doing this once a year is plenty if the vehicle is garaged or if you never park under trees. Not a bad idea to keep a bottle of quick detailer spray in your glove box with a micro fiber rag to spot clean sap, pollen, or bird crap right away.

    aerospace 303 for anything plastic/rubber
Nu finish polish on the paint. Been using it for literally YEARRRS on all 8 of the vehicles I have had in the past and everything stayed protected. Just my $.02 but everyone has an opinion and their own preference protectant.

The only really effective products are covers, carports, and garages.

Adams super VRT for exterior plastic. Won't wash off after the first rain like 303. 303 is great for interior.

Pretty much nailed it. Lol. I have used Mcguires wax for years on all of my cars. Love the stuff. I don't live in the desert though so I've never had to worry about fading paint due to weather.
