I saw a 2nd gen a couple months ago that had yellow tinted film on his headlights. Guess he won't have an issue with the headlights developing cataracts.

You shouldn't need to apply product to your Xpel film. But if you want to, Xcel makes its own brand of detail spray and sealer.

If you want something else, I might go with a spray sealant such as Wolfgang. Or even Duragloss Aquawax Check out Autogeeks selection of spray on wipe off sealers.

I had some pretty oxidized headlights on my truck and decided to take them off, wetsand with 1000 grit, and then had them clearcoated (I worked at a bodyshop at the time so I just gave them to our painter to spray while he was doing another car). Did this last summer and they looked brand new afterwards and after about a year of sitting outdoors all the time they still look brand new and I haven't done anything to them at all since. Not even waxing/sealing, even though I probably should.

I wouldn't do it to headlights that still look good but it seems to be the best restoration that I've found. If anyone wanted to DIY with aerosol I would probably clear them with SprayMax 2k clear.

i wet sanded my last set of headlights and sealed them with spar urethane. It cam out pretty good but dosent compare to brand new lenses in my opinion.

Well for what it's worth, mine still look great.

Regarding the install, no, I did not do it myself. I took it to a shop to have them do it. Seems simple enough, but one of the lights gave them major trouble around the edges. The ended up having to do my driver's side light 3 times. After the third time it was 98% perfect, so I just dealt with it (one tiny part would just not stick). They were working on several high end cars at the time, and there was my Tacoma giving them hell, lol. I haven't washed my truck since late March (long story), but I will finally get to wash it tomorrow. If I remember, I'll take pics of my lights so you can see how they've been holding up since July 2014.

This would also be a good sealant to use:

I use paint sealant on my headlights twice a year ( ) but I also use Plex-All Plastic Polish/Protectant every couple months. Been using it on all my vehicles for several years now.
