2024 Tacoma sport four-wheel drive double cab
I took delivery yesterday on my new 2024 Tacoma sport model 4X double cab model. It's always exciting to have a new car since it's been 20 plus years since I've made such a purchase. Of course my last purchase of similar truck cost 20 grand not 50 Grand :annoyed:.
Can anybody offer any advice on protecting this beautiful truck? I know in prior model years tailgate theft is an issue assume that is still an issue, also ultimately I am going to look for a tonneau cover to protect the bed and it's contents. The supplied floor mats , though premium, really are not adequate for all the sand and mud in my local environment, would like to upgrade these as well. Thinking I need a kill switch or other type of theft prevention measures as well. Thanks for any thoughtful advice on products, sources, Etc

Unfortunately the this generation is still too new and companies haven't quite caught up yet :annoyed:

The tailgate now locks with the rest of the truck, so that really helps with theft.

Plenty of stuff to deter thieves on the market but if they want your stuff they will find a way around it . Just drive it and enjoy your new truck . No point of being paranoid about it .

Nice truck. For now, park it in the garage.

Welcome to TW. If that was my truck I would apply either Amsoil heavy duty metal protector or Wool wax on the frame to protect it from rust. I tried Fluid film found it to wash away too easily. Car care nut on YT recently interviewed the Assistant Chief Engineer for the 2024 Tacoma he said they did address the frame rust issues but I wouldn't trust them they haven't gotten right ever protecting the BOF . I admit I'm OCD on frame maintenance .

Nice truck. You're probably going to hear that a lot. I like the long bed version as well.

Thanks all for your feedback. Good point with respect to frame issues and the new tailgate.
