I searched the forum, but nothing came up.

I am expecting my Mobtown sliders in a couple weeks, I'd like to throw some Herculiner, Duplicolor, Raptor liner or Rhino liner on them.

I'm looking for feedback from anyone who's used these products on sliders or similar uses.

How well has the product help up? Does it provided a secure grip when standing on it? How easy or difficult was it to apply? Would you use it again?

    Thanks in advance!!

    Mostly stuff I built.
Good quality primer/paint and skate board grip tape. That is what I use on sliders. All of these can be removed and redone as needed from damage.

I have mine powder coated and it's held up well. Only a few chips from rocks after hitting some trails. I did consider Rhino Liner, but was told by a dealer that they would have trouble adhering the product to the sliders properly. Not sure why that is (maybe the type of metal or coating), but just a heads up.

As far as grip, the powder coated sliders are super slippery hahaha. You can get a textured powder coat though. I have that on my skid plate (for no reason really).

This is what I did. Well close. I used 3m stair tape stuff from Home Depot. Been on there for a winter and almost a year. Stil looks new.

Sliders are just rattle canned with bedliner spray.

I had mine powder coated with the same texture finish as Toyota uses on their factory steps. Been holding up well for over a year. And I cruise some of the busiest malls in So Cal.

I used por 15. It takes time but is tough and looks good. Holding up good so far. Cost me under $100 and my time.

If you plan on using them use something like rattle can bed liner that can be touched up easy.

if they are actually going to see the trail, rattle can. If its more for mall crawling spare the extra expense and get them powder coated.

Thanks guys! They'll definitely see trail time, I was thinking the rattle can bed liner too.

Was looking into this type of debate as well. Did read somewhere else about rattle canning for trail use, so was going to go with that. Anyone have any recommendations on what kind of stuff to buy? Also, how do you guys protect the paint on the truck from the loose spray particles when touching up? I understand that it's pretty much the bottom and sides that get jacked, but if you are spraying those areas you are also going towards the body.

Mine were coated with POR15 as a base, self etching primer on top and then rattle canned black. They got banged up on the first trail run I ever did (so they did their job) but all I have to do is sand it down and rattle can it again. I'm half tempted to just sand and dip them because dip seems to last longer than paint against rock chips, etc.

I would set a sheet of card board between the slider and the body and spray away.

That's what I do. Everytime I off-road I end up respraying the sliders, especially the legs coming off the frame that tend to get blasted my debris shot up by the tires.

I got mine powder coated. Best option imo. I spent about $150 to have them done.

Look into POR-15 as at least a basecoat option.

I used Herculiner and brushed on a few coats. Tough as nails and great foot grip. A bit messy to work with, but I havnt needed to touch it up in almost 2 years. But I dont off-road.

That's what I did, but POR15 isn't UV stable so you'll need to paint over it as well. I did por15, self etching primer and rattle canned it black. Held up just great over a year now aside from where it banged into rocks/trees of course.

I paid $100 to get mine powder coated. At that price it was a no-brainer, it would have cost half that just for the paint and supplies.

So sounds like get a good base coat of POR15, then coat that with self etching primer, then spray it black for the good looks  . Am I missing anything?
