Ouch, that looks rough. I definitely recommend using a heat gun or at worst a hair dryer.

Hair dryer, plastic razor or small putty knife blade, mineral spirits, lots of patience.

You *may* have already waited too long to have flawless paint left. In the area of the rocker that has the chip guard application I lost a few streaks of the color coat.

Yeah I just bought my first Tacoma this week. Man I’m beyond happy with it but I would like to get this little issue off because, really, it’s the only thing wrong with the truck!

Good inquiry, I was just thinking about the removal and replacement of the ones on my truck the other day. Is there OEM or OEM quality replacements available?

Welcome to TW Joe, it want be long until you will be like many of us and have to hide from the boss lady to visit here because of her being annoyed at how often she catches you logged in.

Me and my old boss took the invisible bra off the front of his f-250 with a hot streaming tool. Took some time but worked well. This looks like the same type of product.

Well, let's all hope you don't have the same philosophy where your tires, windshield wipers, and fuel is concerned. LOL Thanks, but could you perhaps share the resource?

+1 for the steamer and finish it off with that adhesive remover. You can replace it with a new one that a decent wrap shop will have/do. The one is xpel ppf.

That's a good idea. With the wrap would you have to use adhesive backing? And do they offer a thicker more durable variety than the standard wrap, Color etc. I guess I'm asking if they make it for that application or the purpose of a protective covering?

Xpel ppf is a good “clear bra” “invisible shield” whatever the other brands call it now a days. An authorized dealer will easily replace that section. It’s self healing and doesn’t fade. It’s like 4 times thicker than a normal wrap. Check their website.

Welcome to Tacoma World Joe. I'll be facing this same job down the road someday on my truck, but at present there is just some minor soil around the very edges of all of them. Other than that, the pieces are in pretty good shape. The 3M adhesive remover works very well. GooGone is good too and is a little less aggressive.
