So I attended the Texas Toyota Bass Classic, cameras weren't allowed so I didn't get as many detailed pics of the prototypes as I wanted. Plus I was working, so I didn't slack off for too long. Btw while I was there I spoke to a big name 3rd party aftermarket part vendor rep, who advised the redesign will be 2016, I know its he said she said stuff, but this guy reps a big company so IDK. Feel free to ask any questions, Enjoy!!!

That looks terrible. The good thing about tacomas is that they were different then The tundra but now it's just blah...... Turrible just turrible.....

The two bottom ones are tundras, not tacomas.

Those aren't prototypes... They're coming out at 2015 models.

Search the site and you'll find a ton of other threads about this already.

What is terrible? The only one that is a Tacoma is the same as ever, only cosmetic change is the grill.

Wonder what the redesign in 2016 will look like. Seems a little off to me if they're releasing a pro line in 2015. Why release the trd pro model for one year in their current body platform and then redesign it all for 2016. Seems like if they were to do a redesign then the trd pro model would come out then and not next year. Just my opinion. If it what the vendor said is true, he say any specifics about what would change? Bigger motor, new body styling, etc?

I think the redesign will end up being more towards motor, drivetrain, and suspension options with just a few cosmetic changes. I think Toyota is smart enough not to mess up a good thing. That TSS Tundra is pretty sweet though!

Not uncommon for a manufacturer to come out with a "limited" or "pro" version the year before a redesign. Freshens things up for one more year before a change happens. Not saying 2016 will be a redesign but it's been done before.

Not only that, but just like the Baja model, Pro isn't some mass-produced version destined to sell in the range of 100,000 vehicles nationwide. It is just a limited production run of a Toyota model, and in all reality more of tool to promote sales, or Toyota funning around at the end of an generation of their flagship truck. They don't expect this thing to sell in massive quantities, more of Toyota saying, "look guys we are still here, things are changing up, notice us" in prep for next gen.

These 2 pictures are not prototypes. That is the new Tacoma Pro. Notice any body style differences other than the grill? The rest of your pictures are Tundras and 4Runners. This has been discussed ad nauseam.

As far as your "source"..... You don't even want to go there.

The 2016's are no secret, the pictures are all over the internet.

They have an interesting option of a 2 cylinder diesel turning a generator to power electric motors at all 4 corners. Supposed to get 45 mpg in the city and have better ground clearance off road.

If that really is the 2016 Tacoma....no, just...Toyota, please don't! Looks like the front end of a 4Runner photoshopped with the bed of a Tundra along with the lip of the 4Runner hatch added to the back of the cab.
