My wife and I just got home from the dealership a couple hours ago with our shiny new gray Tacoma. We got the double cab short bed, 4x4 Off Road, with a manual transmission. This is my first stick shift in over 20 years, and I'd forgotten how much I love it. Our other car is an 09 Tacoma Sport in the same short bed, double cab 4x4, but in white. The '09 has 240k miles on it and will hopefully get many more, but we needed a second vehicle now that my kids are driving too.

I love the new Taco, and look forward to learning a lot from you folks. I work just a couple miles from Tepui, so I know a RTT is in our future. :D

Thanks Gents! Sorry for the cruddy cell phone pic, but here it is (PS- in case PETA comes along, the pups were just put in there for the photo-op, they didn't ride unsecured in the bed. They had crates in our other Taco:D):

Yep! They were great to deal with. I've been calling dealers all over Northern CA the last few days and Capital came in with the best price for what we wanted.

It has the Premium & Technology Package, which we weren't planning on originally, but I have to admit I love the moon roof. We had one on our old 4-Runner and missed it on the 09 Taco. And the manual with Tech package came in cheaper than the automatic without it. I'm by no means a car buying guru, but I have to say that a half our of internet research saved literally a couple thousand dollars. Knowing the invoice price before going to the dealer was incredibly beneficial.

What did you pay otd? If you don’t mind me asking. None of the local dealers would budge for me on price.

Roughly 39k after taxes and fees. The MSRP with our options was 37,900 and we talked them down to 35k even. Out the door would have been 38K but I added GAP, which was nearly 1k.

That price was allegedly right at invoice, considering the options we got. They aren't going below invoice yet because the 18's aren't out yet and the Tacos are still flying off the shelves.

Ha! Great observation! She's up there in years and even though he's 11 himself, he still acts like a puppy and has way more energy than she approves of.
