    Hello new family,
Just purchased my first Tacoma over the weekend. I was waiting for it to arrive and ordered all the easy stuff I knew I would enjoy so it’s been like Christmas at my house all week... Any hints, tips or tricks you guys are willing to offer would be greatly appreciated. Just looking to find out what kind of “must haves” you guys suggest? Thanks in advance! I attached a photo of where I am at with it already. (been a fun/busy week)

It’s coming along. Still wish I could get my hands on a grill insert. Everyone is sold out (other than the scammers out there)

    Welcome!
Curious on the cold air intake. The stock ones are perfectly fine with the new Tacomas. Of course, unless you like the noise the aftermarket ones make and look really nice.
The reason why I state this is if you are looking for a more responsive feel, get pedal commander/sprint booster. More torque and less gear hunting = regear. Eliminate gear hunting as well completely fix the throttle response (no need for pedal commander/sprint booster) = tune.

I knew that I wasn’t going to put aftermarket exhaust on this truck and I wanted some kind of a tone. That’s honestly the only reason I did it. As of right now, I’m ok with just hitting the ECT button when I’m looking for some higher rpm shift points and less clumsy transmission behavior.

I got you. Those aftermarket intakes do sound really nice especially when slamming on the pedal.
Maybe an exhaust dump :sawzall: if you don't plan an aftermarket exhaust.

Haha yeah for when the fiancé isn’t with me. I watched a video of a guy that put a $400 cat back system in and he also added a dump to it. Funny thing was they sounded almost identical.
