Anyone in this mod day have an opinion on the following:

    5100's with eibachs
    or
    5100's with 884s

I don't want to worry about getting UCA's so I am trying to stay below 2.5"

From what I've read, 5100's are fine with 884s but will provide more lift than the Eibachs.

Anyone in this area have the 5100's/884 combo?

My buddy max had 884's and liked them.

I ran 885's and loved them so that would be my vote,,, 884

Anyone think I should get shims before the mod day for vibrations, or just wait and see if I get any vibs and go from there?

I've read both that shims helped and hurt.

    Thanks,

For all the guys prepping for the camping trip there is still quite a bit of snow at 5000'

and Eagle Lakes is above 7000' so we will be crossing water higher then our diffs (and maybe even some snow in the shade) at the start of the run. So to anyone that has not relocated there diff breather yet do so on or before mod day. It's 15 bucks and easy and a quick trip to Toyota. We will have depth sticks to check the water so don't freak out we won't pass any water that's deeper then the door seals.

I did OME DAKARs on my 2002 dcab. I need the extended brakeline. I ordered mine through Wheelers Off Road in Oregon. I also got all my suspension stuff from them. ICON Coilovers, Bilsteins, Diff Drop, Exhaust extension, brakeline. I think that was it.

I have to put a few things on so I will be there. And I was hoping while there you can give me a hand wiring my fogs (piaa) to my stock fog switch.

Do you guys think a single AAL or a 3 leaf progressive pack (wheelers) would be better for my upcoming lift. A friend of mine said he thought my current leaf pack looked shot and maybe a "mini pack" would be better than an AAL.

How do they look to you guys? Thoughts?

It's getting there I would replace the whole pack now it will save you money in the long run because that AAL is not going to last that long if the leaf packs are shot.

What would be the best options, kinda strapped for cash and wasn't planning on replacing entire pack. Wouldn't the "mini pack" replace the two sagging leafs and I can decide from there if I want to keep the OL leaf?

I didn't know the 3 leaf progressive pack removed leafs besides the overload I thought it was just a AAL pack with 3 progressively smaller leafs. The AAL will hold you off for a bit but if your springs are shot or near shot your 3 leaf progressive pack will only hold so much before they start to sag. Well the 3 leaf progressive pack will probably hold better then a single AAL so if you can't afford to replace the whole pack that is the better option but you might be tossing that and replacing everything in a few months to a year. You really never know until you install the AAL i know my leafs looks like yours and my AAL didn't add anything so I replaced the whole pack.

I could be wrong for sure, I don't know much about this stuff. I talk to wheelers earlier and he said there is a slim to none chance that my leaf pack is shot. Said everyone thinks theirs are but that's how the Tacoma's were designed, with a very flat looking leaf.

    So who knows. Thanks!
