I can bring one just in case. I have my cordless and some drill bits. It needs to be a 15/16" hole right? Or can you happen to measure the shackel and let me know. I have one hear and it measures at 15/16" but not sure what size of shackle you had.

Yep! Got an 18v dewalt with both batteries freshly charged, and a brand new drill bit sitting with it in my garage ready to be loaded with my other stuff! :)
See, thats what I used before. I figured a 3/4" shackle would go perfect with a 15/16" hole... wrong. Turns out the pin is actually just under 7/8" after I measured with my digital caliper, so I've now invested in a 7/8" drill bit.

I think I'll be leaving at about 11(unless I can leave earlier:rolleyes:), and stopping in Redding to meet up with JD shortly, and based on an estimated google maps driving time of about 5 1/2 hrs, I should get there right around 5. I also went and bought a new camera this afternoon to replace my recently discovered broken camera, so im ready now! :D

Im I just miss reading this. Cause 7/8 is smaller than 15/16 and his shackle wouldnt fit so I was thinking the hole is 7/8 and needs to be 15/16. But I could be wrong.

Oh, god, im retarded. LOL. its been a VERY long day. I meant I drilled it with 13/16, but I thought 15/16 when I read that for some reason. lol. Anyways, you're right, but the 7/8 I have should fit it.

Well I have a CM 3/4" shackle here with me now it measures .8970 so you would be better off to go with the 15/16" drill bit. Now unless the China shackles could run a tad smaller but I dont have any of those in front of me.

Hmm. I just measured 2- 3/4" shackles I have sitting down stairs with my digital caliper, one was .8595, and the other was .8605 and they're quality US made shackles. 7/8= .875 so these should fit in that just fine. If there is too much slop, they rattle around a bunch. I guess I'll just bring mine, and you can bring yours and we can see what fits best?

AH no worries. I didnt doubt you it was that I measured 3 I have in the shop and they are any where from .8875 to .8895 and these are CM, made in the USA shackles as well but if Kevin has the same shackles as you have then there is no problem. So the correct bit for the ones I have would need to be 57/64 and those would fit snug.
So ya you wouldnt want them rattling around like you said, that is annoying as hell.
