Have any members made it up into Prudhoe from the Lower 48? Starting to plan a month + Road trip for next summer.

Which Route did you take? Decent Campsites along the way?

I skipped Prudhoe because someone along the way suggested Tuk and I went there instead.

    Where are you starting from?

Los if people have, it’s an easy drive all the way. Take a Prius wagon and have a comfortable dry place to sleep and use 1/4 the gas a Tacoma would take.

It was in my plans till the gas prices went crazy.

The GF wants to go to Prudhoe Bay, but, the road stops several miles south of the Arctic Ocean in Deadhorse, and you need to take a tour of the oil fields to actually see it and dip your feet in. Granted, the tour only costs $70, but we're still looking at Tuktoyaktuk as a potential trip instead, since we could drive all the way. The distances are pretty comparable, with Tuk looking to require 2-3 fewer tanks of gas.
